When You Arise

When You Arise

When you arise in the morning,
give thanks to God for the gift of another day.

For the breath within your lungs,
for the heart that beats faithfully—
a miracle of His creation,
working quietly without being asked.

Give thanks for eyes that behold the sunrise,
for its light reminding us
that His mercies are new every morning.

Give thanks for the strength to rise,
for the work placed before your hands,
and for another opportunity
to walk in purpose.

Before the noise of the day begins,
be still for just a moment.

Look toward Heaven and say,
“Thank You, God, for the gift of this day.May I never take Your blessings for granted.”

For every morning we awaken
is another prayer answered,
another blessing received,
and another chance to walk with God
