Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday, everyone! We made it through another week, and for that, we are truly grateful. Thank God for His unwavering presence and the hope that carries us through each day.

As we reflect on our journey in faith, it’s essential to remember that having consistent and transformational encounters with God while on earth is at the core of the Christian life. Our faith is not built on mere rituals but on a living relationship with a loving God. Through the sacrificial love of Jesus, we have been filled with the Holy Spirit – a divine presence that continually draws us closer to the heart of our heavenly Father.

In this fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel isolated or overwhelmed, but we must always remember that we are never alone. The God who created the universe walks with us every step of the way. There is no place we can flee from His presence, and His love for us is unwavering.

Let this week be a reminder of our purpose – to seek God’s face and experience His transformational love. Through daily encounters with the living God, we discover the depths of His grace, the vastness of His wisdom, and the richness of His love. It is in seeking His face that we find our true selves, for He is the One who formed us, knows us intimately, and loves us unconditionally.

As we enter into this weekend, let us take a moment to reflect on the words of Psalm 100:4, which says, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” In our gratitude and worship, we open ourselves to God’s presence, allowing Him to transform our hearts and fill us with His peace.

So, as we bid farewell to another week, may our hearts be filled with gratitude, and may we eagerly anticipate the transformational encounters with our loving God that await us in the days to come. Have a blessed and joy-filled weekend!

Scripture:“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”

Almost Time to Get the Moving Truck !!

Good morning, everyone! I hope you’re having an amazing week so far. It’s almost Friday, and that’s a reason to celebrate. Today, I want to talk about “Thankful Thursday.” Tonight, we’re picking up our trailer, and tomorrow, we’re going to start loading it up on “Fantastic Friday.” The we have to go back yo U-Haul Saturday and load our car hauler, unless it comes in sooner. They have it set up for Friday afternoon so fingers crossed it arrives on time.

Hopefully, by then, we’ll have everything together so we can hit the road sometime on Start New Saturday.” This marks the beginning of a brand new journey for Tom and I, and it’s going to be nothing short of amazing. We’re moving closer to our granddaughter, daughter, and friends scattered throughout Florida.

We’ve made a decision for this move – since we’re taking a U-Haul, a car hauler, and quite a substantial load, we’re not going to rush anything. Hauling such a load, especially through mountains and traffic, can be challenging. My husband is experienced with this, but we know the importance of taking our time. We won’t push ourselves to drive to exhaustion. When we’re tired, we’ll stop, eat, stretch, and in the evening, decide if we want to keep going or stop for the night.

So, if I don’t pop on here in a day or two, rest assured, I’ll be back with an update. I wish you all an amazing rest of the week and hope you make it a great weekend. Peace.

Now, let’s find inspiration in two positive quotes:

  1. “Relocation is not just about changing your home. It’s about changing your dreams, your hopes, and your life.” – Unknown
  2. “Starting anew in a different state is like opening a new chapter in the book of life, filled with blank pages ready to be written with your adventures and stories.” – Author Unknown

And let’s also draw strength from two Bible verses:

  1. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)
  2. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” – Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

Rejoicing in the Blessings of Employment on this Beautiful Thursday

Title: “Rejoicing in the Blessings of Employment on this Beautiful Thursday”

This is the beautiful day a Thursday, that the Lord has made, and it’s a day worth rejoicing in. As the workweek approaches its end, let us take a moment to reflect on the significance of having a job and the blessings that come with it.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the routines and challenges of work. We wake up early, commute, meet deadlines, and sometimes face the stresses of our jobs. It’s during these moments that we may forget the immense blessing of having employment.

Having a job is more than just a means to earn a living; it’s an opportunity. It’s a chance to contribute to society, to grow personally and professionally, and to make a difference in the lives of others. It provides us with stability and a sense of purpose, and it allows us to support ourselves and our loved ones.

On this beautiful Thursday, let’s take a moment to show our gratitude for the jobs we have. Here’s a reminder of the importance of gratitude:

“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” – Melody Beattie

Gratitude has the power to transform our perspective. When we express gratitude for our employment, we not only acknowledge the blessings of the present but also create a positive vision for our future.

Consider the countless individuals who are seeking employment, longing for the stability and opportunities that come with having a job. Our employment is a privilege, and by being grateful for it, we honor this privilege.

Furthermore, as we approach the end of the workweek, let’s take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments. Celebrate your hard work and dedication. Recognize the challenges you’ve overcome and the goals you’ve achieved. Each day at work is a step forward, an opportunity to learn and grow.

In the midst of the fatigue that sometimes accompanies the workweek’s end, let us not forget the blessings of employment. As we embrace this beautiful Thursday, may we rejoice in the opportunities it brings, show gratitude for our jobs, and carry the positive spirit of thankfulness into the days ahead.

Remember, every day is a gift, and having a job is a blessing. Rejoice and be glad in it!

Enduring Trials with Joy and Faith: A Lesson from the Book of James

Introduction:

Good morning everyone! Today, we’re going to delve into the profound wisdom offered in the book of James, a timeless guide on how to navigate life’s trials and tribulations. We all encounter difficulties, be it job loss, poverty, addiction, mental health issues, or other challenges. In times of adversity, we can find solace and strength through faith and prayer. In this blog post, we’ll explore the teachings of James and discover five actionable steps to endure trials with joy and faith.

  1. Look to the Lord First:
James, believed to be the half-brother of Jesus, penned this epistle to encourage believers facing trials due to their faith. His message resonates with us today as trials remain an integral part of life. Rather than shying away from them, we should look to the Lord first, seeking His guidance and strength.
  2. Pray and Ask God for Wisdom:
In the face of trials, prayer becomes our daily refuge. James emphasizes that when adversity strikes, we should turn to God and ask for wisdom. Prayer connects us to a higher source of guidance and understanding.
  3. Wait Upon the Lord:
Patience can be challenging in times of trials, yet it’s essential. James reminds us to wait upon the Lord. Sometimes, the answers to our prayers take time to manifest. Trust in His timing and have faith that He’s working behind the scenes.
  4. Throw Off Hindrances and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus:
To endure trials effectively, we must shed the burdens that hinder us. Just as athletes shed excess weight to run faster, we should release the baggage of fear, doubt, and worldly desires. Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, keeps us on the right path.
  5. Allow the Word of God to Fill Your Heart and Wait Upon the Lord Some More:
James advises us to immerse ourselves in God’s Word. It provides us with strength, guidance, and a deeper connection to our faith. Even as we wait for resolutions to our trials, we should continue to seek God through His Word.

The Purpose of Trials:
Trials, as James explains, are not meant to break us but to build us. They test our faith, develop perseverance, and lead us to spiritual maturity. It’s essential to remember that trials aren’t punishments but opportunities for growth.

Counting Trials as Joy:
James challenges us to consider trials as joy. This joy isn’t mere happiness but a sense of well-being, knowing that God is in control. Viewing trials from God’s perspective allows us to find peace and surrender to His care.

The Crown of Life:
Ultimately, enduring trials leads to the crown of life, an eternal reward for our faithfulness. Success, as a Christian, isn’t measured by worldly wealth but by our faith in Christ and the promise of eternal life.

Trials are an inevitable part of life, but with faith, prayer, and perseverance, we can endure them with joy. The book of James provides us with invaluable wisdom on navigating difficult situations. Remember, God is with you in your trials, and He’s working for your good. Trust in Him, seek His wisdom, and hold onto the promise of the crown of life that awaits those who persevere in faith.

The “Let Them, ” Theory: Finding Peace in Letting Go

In life, we often find ourselves entangled in situations that evoke emotions we can’t control. We become invested in outcomes that aren’t within our grasp. Today, I’d like to introduce you to a theory the “Let Them” theory. It’s a simple yet profound concept that encourages us to relinquish control over things we can’t change and focus on what truly matters.

Have you ever felt hurt because a few friends didn’t invite you to lunch? Or maybe your partner decided to spend the day dirt bike riding or fishing or watching sports when you were hoping for quality time together. Perhaps you expected a raise at work, but it went to someone hired after you, that you trained! These are common scenarios where we get emotionally charged over situations beyond our control.

The “Let Them” theory teaches us to, well, let them. It’s a reminder that we can’t dictate every aspect of our lives or expect people to conform to our desires. Everyone in our circle is an individual with their own thoughts and ways of doing things. We must recognize this individuality and allow people to be themselves. No matter how crazy it may drive us some days where no matter how bad we want to tell them what they’re doing is not correct we have to let go and let them.

If someone you’re attracted to isn’t ready for commitment, let them. If your kids decide they’d rather go to a party than a ballet show you’d planned and bought tickets for months ago, let them. If your partner, friend, family member, or boss isn’t meeting your expectations, let them.

No, I’m not suggesting we allow our friends and family and loved ones to do things dangerous that would put them in harms way, because we absolutely should intervene because we love them and there are times when people don’t often do things clearly or rationally or stray off the path a little bit, and it is up to us to help them back on the right path.

But in every day situations whether we think because they bought a car last year and wanna trade that car in and buy another one this year is wrong we have to let them, or whether the boss decides to give somebody else that promotion he promised you a month ago or because we’re not getting the time with our spouse significant other boyfriend whatever we have to let go and let them let them be there self.

Why? Because when you let them be themselves, it reveals their true nature. It shows you who they are without the influence of your expectations. And then, it’s up to you to decide your next move. Maybe you’ll choose to communicate, compromise, or even distance yourself. The key is that you regain control over your own reactions and decisions.

Attempting to control every aspect of our lives and the people in it only leads to frustration and disappointment. It’s a path to emotional exhaustion. True peace comes from letting go and embracing the uniqueness of those around us.

So, the next time life presents a situation where you can’t control the outcome, remember the “Let Them” theory. Release your grip on the uncontrollable, and you’ll find serenity in accepting people as they are. In the end, by letting them, you empower yourself to make choices that align with your own values and desires.

Unveiling Family Mysteries: My Genealogical Journey Found While Repacking Old Boxes

Hello, everyone! I hope you’ve been well. I apologize for my brief absence; it’s been a whirlwind of activity as we prepare for our big move from Ohio to the sunny shores of Florida. But today, I’m excited to share with you an unexpected blessing that has recently come my way.

You see, I’m an avid genealogy and history enthusiast. Whether it’s local history, state government, worldwide events, or the intricacies of family history, I’m captivated by it all. For me, delving into genealogy was an absolute must.

The Mystery of My Maternal Grandmother:
My journey into the world of genealogy took an intriguing turn because of my maternal grandmother. She was born in 1902, and as many of you might be aware, the record-keeping practices of that time left much to be desired. Even today, obtaining adoption information from courts can be a challenging endeavor. My grandmother, however, knew she was adopted but seldom spoke about it. When she passed away at the remarkable age of 94 in 1996, I made it my mission to uncover the truth about her origins.

The Quest for Answers:
From 1997 onwards, I embarked on a relentless pursuit to unearth the secrets of my grandmother’s past. I can still vividly recall spending endless hours in libraries, poring over dusty records, and combing through archives. Back then, home computers weren’t as common as they are today, so the library became my haven for research.

The Surprising Discovery:
Recently, as I was going through old boxes of belongings, a hodgepodge of memories accumulated over the years, I stumbled upon a tattered book titled “America Illustrated,” dating back to the late 19th century. My love for books compelled me to keep it, and little did I know that within its fragile pages lay the answers I had been seeking for over two decades.

Inside the pages of this aged book were documents that illuminated my grandmother’s early years spent in an orphanage. Astonishingly, the answer to my lifelong question had been tucked away in a storage closet right next to our apartment all these years. It’s incredible to think that my mother had possession of this crucial piece of our family history before her passing in 2000.

Reflections and Unexpected Blessings:
As we approach the latter part of 2023, I find myself reflecting on this incredible journey. For 23 years, I unknowingly carried the key to my grandmother’s true identity with me, hidden in plain sight. It’s a powerful reminder that life’s most profound blessings can often be right under our noses, waiting for the perfect moment to reveal themselves.

Moving Forward:
In conclusion, I want to emphasize the importance of remaining open to life’s unexpected blessings. It was my granddaughter, Celina, who presented us with the incredible opportunity to move to Florida. This move has brought my daughter and me closer than ever, and we’re on the verge of settling into a beautiful new home. While this journey has been at times chaotic and daunting, it has been nothing short of thrilling.

So, dear readers, as you go about your day, remember that miracles and blessings are all around us, just waiting to be discovered. Whether it’s finding answers to long-held questions or embracing new adventures, life is full of surprises. I encourage you to be kind to others and, if the opportunity arises, be a blessing to someone you may not even know. Sometimes, it’s as simple as holding the door open for a stranger.

Wishing you all a day filled with unexpected joys and blessings. Until next time, peace.

My Journey to Decluttering: From Chaos to Clarity

Moving several states away was a decision that brought with it a daunting realization: I was drowning in clutter. The thought of starting anew, with a fresh and organized life, excited me. Little did I know the storm I was about to weather as I embarked on the tumultuous journey of decluttering.

The process of decluttering is like peeling back the layers of your life. It’s an excavation of the past, an archaeological dig into the recesses of your home and your mind. And let me tell you, it can be incredibly stressful. As I began to sort through my belongings, it felt like an overwhelming hurricane of chaos had swept through my living space. I discovered that I was, unknowingly, a paper hoarder. I had recipes from 1999 and random, raggedy pieces of paper that I inexplicably deemed precious.

Yet, amidst the chaos, there were unexpected treasures waiting to be uncovered. While sifting through the mountains of paper, I stumbled upon two brand new coffee pots, still in their pristine packaging. One found a new home with my mother-in-law, and the other was designated for our journey to our new life. I also unearthed a Chef Irvine everything blender combination mixer, never opened and untouched. These discoveries were like rays of sunlight breaking through the storm clouds of clutter.

The emotional rollercoaster of parting with possessions was real. I said goodbye to clothes, exercise equipment, dishes, furniture, TVs, silverware, and even jewelry. It felt like I could’ve opened my own consignment shop with the sheer volume of items I had accumulated over the years. However, with each item donated or discarded, I felt a sense of liberation. The weight of material possessions was gradually lifting, allowing me to breathe easier.

Throughout this process, I held on tightly to the things that truly mattered – family heirlooms, precious photos, and sentimental items that carried the stories of generations. These were my anchors in the storm of decluttering. They reminded me that life’s treasures aren’t found in material possessions but in the memories and connections we share.

As we near the end of this arduous journey, I can say with certainty that I’m feeling lighter, both physically and mentally. The clutter is clearing, and I’m making a promise to myself: no more paper hoarding. I’ll cherish the moments, capture memories, and hold on to what truly matters, but I won’t let the paper pile up again.

I owe this transformative experience to my family, especially my granddaughter, whose support and encouragement made this move possible. With gratitude in my heart, I look forward to the new chapter of our life in Florida, where we’ll carry the lessons of decluttering into a simpler, more organized, and less stressful future. It’s a journey worth taking, and I’m ready for the clarity and peace it will bring.

Embracing Serenity: A Beautiful Sunday Morning

Good morning, everyone! What a glorious Sunday morning it is. The world outside my window in Ohio is bathed in the soft, golden light of the rising sun. The air carries a crispness that gently reminds us that autumn is on its way. It’s a stark contrast to the warm, 80-degree mornings we enjoyed just last week. It’s amazing how swiftly the seasons change, reminding us of the ever-moving tapestry of life.

As we step into this tranquil Sunday, I want to encourage each of you to take a moment for yourself. Amid the rush and responsibilities of our daily lives, self-care often takes a backseat. But today, let’s prioritize it. Whether it’s enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, taking a leisurely walk in the brisk morning air, or indulging in a favorite book, make time for the simple pleasures that rejuvenate your soul.

In the midst of self-care, let’s also remember to nurture our spiritual well-being. The guidance and wisdom found in the Bible can provide solace and clarity in our lives. So, take a few moments to read a passage that resonates with you. Let its words inspire and uplift you as you embark on this new day.

Now, let’s infuse some positivity into our morning with a quote of the day:

“Your life is your message to the world. Make sure it’s inspiring.” – Unknown

Isn’t it a beautiful reminder that each day is an opportunity to write our own story, to inspire others through our actions and words? Let’s embrace this chance to create a positive impact on the world around us.

And of course, no Sunday morning is complete without a touch of spiritual nourishment. Today’s Bible verse is from Proverbs 3:5-6:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

These words remind us of the power of trust and submission in our journey through life. As we go about our day, let’s carry this verse in our hearts, trusting that when we surrender to a higher purpose, our path becomes clearer and more purposeful.

I hope you all have a wonderful, serene Sunday filled with self-care, spiritual reflection, and moments of joy. Enjoy your weekend, my friends, and may it

Downsizing: A Journey of Letting Go and Finding Freedom

Downsizing: A Journey of Letting Go and Finding Freedom

As I sit here amidst the boxes and memories, preparing for a new chapter in my life, I can’t help but reflect on the true meaning of downsizing. It goes far beyond just getting rid of things; it’s about passing on cherished possessions to loved ones or helping those in need during times of transition. Downsizing is an opportunity for growth, both personally and spiritually.

In my hands, I hold a silverware set that has been passed down . It was once my aunt’s, then my mother’s, then mine and now it’s my turn to decide who will carry on its legacy. I realize that downsizing is not about discarding our past, but rather about sharing our history with those we love. And also helping strangers in need as well.

So, what in your life are you ready to downsize? Is it personal belongings that no longer serve you? Is it the collection of hobbies and interests that have faded into the background of your life? Or perhaps it’s the mountain of paperwork that has accumulated over the years, burdening your space and mind?

There are certain items, like old family photos, that we should never part with. But do we really need receipts from purchases made decades ago? Or the keys to our first car, long since recycled? It’s time to let go of the unnecessary clutter that weighs us down, while still cherishing the memories they represent.

The process of downsizing has not come without its challenges. My husband and I have found ourselves clinging onto things because of sentimental attachments and the fear of letting go. We believed that these possessions somehow defined us or held the key to our past. However, as we embark on this new adventure, we’ve come to realize that these material possessions do not define us; they are simply reminders of chapters already written.

Our upcoming move to a different state, prompted by the desire to be closer to family, has brought about a newfound clarity. We are excited about the journey ahead, knowing that it will be lighter and less encumbered by the weight of things. Going through our belongings and downsizing has been liberating. I still think some things we could downsize more , but we have done a lot and It has allowed us to release emotions and lighten our spirits.

As I stumbled upon a box of papers that had remained untouched since the year 2000, I saw my mother’s reflection in my actions. She too held onto things, leaving behind a task for me huge and physical and emotional demanding task after she passed away. But now, I am determined to break this cycle. I no longer fear letting go. And Downsizing has become an opportunity to declutter not only our house but also our lives. I am not carrying 261 books with me. So I am keeping ones that I really want or haven’t read yet.

The process of shedding unnecessary excess has opened our eyes to the freedom that comes with living a simpler life. We no longer need to carry the burden of old papers or dozens of outdated magazines. Instead, we can focus on what truly matters – the experiences and relationships that shape us.

Downsizing is not just about physical possessions; it is also about decluttering our minds. By letting go of the unnecessary, we create space for new experiences, ideas, and growth. As I embark on this journey, I find solace in scripture, which reminds me to release stress and anxiety:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7.

And as we clear our minds of clutter, I leave you with this quote of the day:

“Clutter is not just physical stuff. It’s old ideas, toxic relationships, and bad habits. Clutter is anything that does not support your better self.” – Eleanor Brownn.

May this journey of downsizing bring you peace, clarity, and the freedom to embrace the joy of a simplified life.

Finding Faith in Life’s Ups and Downs: God’s Ever-Present Guidance

Life is a journey filled with peaks and valleys, where joy and sorrow intermingle, and we encounter the unexpected at every turn. In the midst of this unpredictable journey, it’s comforting to believe that there is a guiding presence, a force that knows our future even before we do. For many, that guiding force is God, a source of unwavering faith and strength.

The Inevitable Roller Coaster of Life

Life is a kaleidoscope of experiences. At times, we bask in the warm glow of success and love, feeling on top of the world. Other times, we navigate the treacherous terrain of health issues, grief, or abuse, leaving us feeling lost and broken. Yet, amidst this whirlwind of emotions, one constant remains – our faith in God.

Trusting in Divine Providence

No matter the circumstances we face, the belief that God is always with us provides a profound sense of comfort. It’s a belief deeply rooted in trust, an unwavering conviction that there is a plan for us, even when we can’t see it. This trust allows us to face adversity with resilience and to savor moments of joy with gratitude, knowing that all experiences, whether good or bad, shape our journey.

The Divine Perspective

From a divine perspective, every trial we encounter is an opportunity for growth, every loss a chance for spiritual awakening. In the depths of grief or the throes of pain, we may question why a loving God would allow such suffering. But it’s in these moments that our faith is truly tested. It’s when we cling to our belief in God’s presence that we find the strength to endure, the courage to heal, and the capacity to forgive.

God’s Role in Our Success

On the flip side, when we taste success and happiness, it’s easy to forget our dependence on a higher power. We may become complacent, attributing our achievements solely to our efforts. Yet, it’s in these moments of triumph that acknowledging God’s role becomes even more important. Recognizing that our successes are not solely the result of our abilities but also the divine guidance we receive keeps us humble and grateful.

Love as the Ultimate Expression

In the tapestry of life, love is perhaps the most potent thread. It binds us to one another and connects us to the divine. It’s through love that we often experience God’s presence most profoundly. Whether it’s the love of a friend, the love of family, or the love of a romantic partner, it’s a reminder of the love God has for us.

Embracing the Journey

In conclusion, life’s journey is a complex tapestry of experiences, from the highest peaks to the lowest valleys. Throughout it all, our faith in God provides the thread that weaves these moments together. It’s a belief that God is with us every step of the way, guiding us through life’s twists and turns, and revealing the beauty in both our
