Series overview The King Is Coming: The Heart of the Gospel

As we come to the end of this series, don’t let it end as simply another Bible study.

Let it become a turning point.

The Bible is one story from Genesis to Revelation and every page points to Jesus Christ.

Why Jesus Came

  • To reveal the heart of God.
  • To save sinners through His death and resurrection.
  • To break the power of sin and death.
  • To restore our relationship with our Creator.
  • To give eternal life to everyone who believes in Him.
  • To invite us into His Kingdom.

Jesus did not come to condemn those who would receive Him.

He came to rescue them.

Why Jesus Is Coming Back

Jesus is returning because His work is not yet complete.

He will fulfill every promise God has made.

He will bring perfect justice where injustice has ruled.

He will end evil forever.

He will gather His people.

He will establish His everlasting Kingdom.

He will make all things new.

The King who came as a humble servant will return as the King of kings.

Why Getting Right with God Matters

Life is fragile.

Tomorrow is never promised.

One day every one of us will stand before God.

Our greatest question won’t be how much money we made…

How famous we became…

How many followers we had…

Or how successful the world thought we were.

The question will be:

Did I know Jesus?

There is no decision more important.

How Should We Live?

Read your Bible.

Even ten minutes each day can renew your mind, strengthen your spirit, and help you recognize God’s truth in a confusing world.

Pray every day.

Talk with God honestly.

Teach your children and grandchildren to know God’s Word.

Give them an inheritance of faith that will outlast every earthly possession.

Love people.

Forgive quickly.

Choose kindness over anger.

Choose humility over pride.

Choose truth over compromise.

Choose hope over fear.

Work hard and pursue excellence.

Success itself is not wrong.

God can use successful people to bless others.

But never let success become your god.

Never worship money.

Never chase power at the expense of your character.

Never allow hatred to replace love.

Never let possessions become more valuable than people.

Never sacrifice your soul for temporary gain.

None of Us Is Perfect

Every one of us has failed.

Every one of us needs God’s grace.

The goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is surrender.

Each day we should become a little more like Christ than we were yesterday.

A little more loving.

A little more forgiving.

A little more generous.

A little more faithful.

When we fall, we don’t quit.

We turn back to Jesus.

His mercy is new every morning.

One Final Thought

The world doesn’t need more division.

It needs more compassion.

It doesn’t need more pride.

It needs more humility.

It doesn’t need more hate.

It needs the love of Christ.

The greatest investment you will ever make is not in your retirement account, your career, or your possessions.

It is in your relationship with God.

Everything else will one day pass away.

Your soul will not.

So while there is still time…

Seek God.

Trust Jesus.

Open your Bible.

Raise your family to know Him.

Love others well.

Live with eternity in view.

Because the greatest story ever told is still moving toward its glorious conclusion.

The King is coming.

May He find us watching, believing, loving, and ready.
