Obedience — Living in Love

Obedience — Living in Love

When you accept Jesus as Lord of your life, you declare your trust and commitment to obey Him because of His incredible love for us. True faith produces obedience—it’s the natural response to God’s grace. As Paul taught in Romans, obedience of faith is vital, and disobedience stems from unbelief. If we truly believe in Jesus, our actions will reflect that belief; we will walk in love.

Reflection and Application:

  • What does it mean to be connected to Jesus?
Being connected to Jesus means trusting Him completely, following His teachings, and allowing His love to guide our actions.
  • Have you been involved in church or small groups?
Engaging in fellowship helps us grow in faith and walk in obedience. If you’re not yet involved, consider joining a community of believers.
  • Have you been baptized or are working toward it?
Baptism is a step of obedience that publicly declares your faith in Christ.
  • Are you spending regular time with God in His Word and prayer?
Daily devotional time helps deepen your relationship with God and reinforces your faith.

What Is True Love? (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
Love is patience, kindness, humility, and endurance. It’s not jealous, boastful, proud, rude, self-seeking, easily angered, or keeps records of wrongs.

Most challenging?
Being patient and forgiving is often hardest to practice. Because people can hurt our feelings, especially those we love. When they are mean to us or do foolish things.

How to allow the Spirit to produce this love?
Pray daily, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with love, and practice these qualities intentionally.

The Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
Love is just one fruit of the Spirit. Others include joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

What qualities need growth?
If you notice a lack of patience or gentleness, ask the Spirit to cultivate these traits.

How to let the Spirit work?
Stay close to God through prayer and Bible study, and be receptive to His guidance.

Loving God and Others
Jesus summarized the greatest commandments: Love God and love your neighbor.

  • Why two commands?
Because loving God naturally leads to loving others, and vice versa. They’re inseparable.
  • What does it mean to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind?
To love Him completely—putting Him first in everything, seeking His will, and obeying His Word.
  • How does loving God influence loving others?
It fills us with His love, making us more compassionate, forgiving, and patient.
  • Who is my neighbor?
Anyone in need—family, friends, strangers, even those difficult to love.
  • Who are the people in your life who may not feel loved?

Living in Full Obedience
Obedience to God isn’t optional; it’s about living all His Word—both the easy and the hard parts. Don’t come to church for appearances or pick what fits your lifestyle. Live fully in His love, practicing what He teaches, and let His Spirit guide you toward genuine obedience.

Heavenly Father, Guide our hearts and minds to walk faithfully in Your way. Help us to be obedient to Your will and draw closer to You each day. Fill us with Your Spirit so that we may shine Your light brightly to others, illuminating their paths with love and truth. May our lives be a beacon of hope and grace, bringing glory to Your name. Amen.

Women in scripture – Sarah

Sarah: A Testament of Faith, Patience, and Divine Promise

Sarah’s journey is a powerful story of faith, patience, and God’s miraculous power. Her life teaches us that even when circumstances seem impossible, trusting in God’s promises and timing can lead to divine fulfillment. Her story, primarily found in Genesis 12, 18, and 21, offers timeless lessons about hope and unwavering trust in God’s plan.

Her Name and Role

Originally called Sarai, which means “my princess,” God changed her name to Sarah as part of a divine covenant, declaring she would be the “mother of many nations.” She was the wife of Abraham, and together they traveled from Ur to Canaan in obedience to God’s call. Sarah is recognized as one of the four great matriarchs of the Jewish faith, symbolizing faith and trust in God’s promises.

Her Struggles and Doubts

For many years, Sarah eagerly desired children, but she remained infertile well into her old age. She was 90 years old when she finally conceived Isaac—an astonishing miracle that defied human expectations. Throughout her years of waiting, Sarah experienced doubt and disbelief, famously laughing when she overheard God’s promise that she would bear a son. Her laughter was mixed with both skepticism and joy, illustrating the complex emotions we face when God’s promises seem far beyond our reach.

In Genesis 18, we see her doubting God’s promise as she laughs quietly to herself, thinking, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” Yet, despite her doubts, God’s promise remained true.

The Conflict with Hagar

In her impatience and desire for God’s promise, Sarah gave her maidservant, Hagar, to Abraham, hoping to facilitate the birth of a child. Hagar’s pregnancy led to jealousy and conflict—something many of us can relate to when plans don’t unfold as expected. Eventually, Sarah and Hagar’s relationship became strained, resulting in Hagar fleeing into the wilderness. This part of her story reminds us that when we try to help God along, we often face unintended consequences, and trusting in His timing is crucial.

The Birth of Isaac and Her Legacy

God’s promise was fulfilled in His perfect timing. Despite her advanced age, Sarah conceived and gave birth to Isaac, fulfilling the divine promise made to Abraham. Her laughter of doubt turned into a joyful expression of faith and gratitude. Isaac was a son of promise, a symbol of hope and God’s unwavering covenant.

Sarah’s story is a testament that God’s promises are infallible, even when human circumstances suggest otherwise. Her life encourages us to hold onto hope with faith—that God’s timing is perfect, and His promises will come to pass.

What We Can Learn from Sarah

  • Trust in God’s promises, even when they seem impossible.
  • Be patient and wait on God’s timing, not our own.
  • Understand that doubt is natural, but faith can overcome it.
  • Remember that God works through our weaknesses and doubts to strengthen our faith.
  • Embrace hope as a divine gift, knowing that God’s plans exceed our understanding.

Reflecting on Genesis 12, 18, and 21

Sarah’s story reminds us that faith involves trusting God’s Word and His promises, regardless of how long the wait may be. Her journey from doubt to joy teaches us that God’s plans are always for our good, and His promises are sure—even when we feel uncertain and fearful.

A Prayer for Faith and Patience

Heavenly Father, thank You for the inspiring story of Sarah—her faith, her doubts, her perseverance, and Your divine faithfulness. Help us to trust You fully, even when Your promises seem far away or impossible from our perspective.

Teach us patience as we wait on Your perfect timing. Strengthen our faith so we can believe in Your Word beyond our limitations and circumstances. Remind us that You are the God of miracles, and nothing is too difficult for You.

Help us to hold onto hope, regardless of how long the wait, and to remember that You are always working for our good. Fill us with peace as we trust in Your promises, and give us the courage to believe with unwavering faith.

Guide us, Lord, to walk in obedience and trust, knowing that Your plans for us are greater than we can imagine. Thank You for Your mercy and grace, demonstrated so powerfully through Sarah’s life.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Have a blessed day

Woman in Scripture -Eve The Mother of Humanity

Eve: The Mother of All Humanity – Her Life, Lessons, and Legacy

Eve holds a unique place in biblical history as the first woman and the mother of all humankind. Created by God from Adam’s rib, she was designed to be a companion and helper—reflecting God’s love and creativity. Her life begins in perfect harmony within the Garden of Eden, where she walks with God and enjoys a life of abundance.

However, even in paradise, Eve faced a crucial test of responsibility and trust. When the serpent tempted her to doubt God’s command not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, she made a choice that would change everything. She succumbed to temptation, ate the forbidden fruit, and shared it with Adam. Her decision introduced sin into the world, resulting in pain, toil, and separation from God’s perfect presence.

Attributes and Lessons from Eve

Eve’s story reveals both her strengths and her weaknesses. She was created with intelligence, curiosity, and the ability to make choices. Her willingness to listen and respond—though misguided—shows her capacity to learn and grow. Even after her mistake, she faced the consequences with humility, and her life became a testimony of human fallibility and God’s mercy.

From her life, we learn that responsibility lies with us when making decisions. Eve’s choices remind us to trust in God’s Word and rely on His guidance rather than our own understanding. Although she failed to listen to God and was persuaded and tricked by Satan, she also displayed an important attribute: the ability to accept accountability and seek redemption.

Her Legacy and Her Children

Eve’s life continued after her fall, and she became the mother of many children. Some of her most notable offspring include:

  • Cain: The firstborn, a farmer who later murdered his brother Abel.
  • Abel: The shepherd who offered a faithful sacrifice to God and was tragically killed by Cain.
  • Seth: Born after Abel’s death, seen as a continuation of God’s righteous line.
  • Other children: Genesis 4 and 5 mention that Eve had many sons and daughters, making her the ancestor of all humanity.

Eve’s legacy as the “mother of all living” (Genesis 3:20) underscores that, despite her mistakes, she was chosen by God to be the beginning of the human family. Her life reflects both human frailty and God’s unending grace.

What We Can Learn from Eve Today

Eve’s story encourages us to accept responsibility for our decisions and to trust God fully. When faced with temptation, we should choose obedience, remembering that God’s guidance leads to life and peace. Her life reminds us that failure is not final; God’s mercy is greater than our mistakes. With humility and faith, we can rise again, learn, and grow closer to God each day.

A Short Prayer for Obedience

Heavenly Father, thank You for the example of Eve—her life, her mistakes, and her lessons. Help us to trust and obey You in all we do. Strengthen us when we face temptation, and give us the humility to turn back to You when we falter. Guide us to walk faithfully and live in obedience to Your Word. May we always seek to honor You with our choices. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Amen.

Next we will discuss Sarah

Wishing you all a blessed day

Starting Monday with Grace

Starting Monday with Grace

Happy Monday! Today is a fresh start, a new opportunity to walk in God’s grace and renew our spirits. As we begin this week, remember to be gentle with yourself. No matter what yesterday brought, today is a new day full of possibilities. Give yourself permission to let go of any harsh self-judgment and step into this day with compassion and grace.

Take a moment to forgive those who may have hurt you or spoken unkind words—whether intentionally or not. Often times there are two sides to every story actually three sides there’s yours and the right one. I think often times we hold grudges for the wrong reasons. I personally don’t believe in holding a grudge, but there have been times where I’ve been angry at someone because I misunderstood something if you let that wall continue to build, especially if it’s with family or friends there’s going to come in time where there’s like a point of no return and then what good to set to anyone you’re both not doing God‘s word or doing his wishes which is forgiving others And honoring your family

Holding onto bitterness only weighs us down, but forgiveness frees us to move forward. Release any resentment into God’s hands and trust in His power to heal and restore.

Thank God for waking you up this morning. His mercy is new every morning, and His love never fails. No matter how big or small your problems seem, remember that you are never alone. God is always with you, guiding, comforting, and strengthening you through every challenge.

Whatever you’re facing this week, hold on to the promise that you will get through it. With faith and trust in the Lord, brighter days are ahead. Walk in confidence, knowing that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

You are dearly loved and beautifully made. Have a blessed Monday and a wonderful new week ahead!

Scripture to remind us of His presence:

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” — Isaiah 41:10

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

Start this week with faith, grace, and gratitude. God is with you—every step of the way.

Wishing everyone a blessed day

Understanding 2 Timothy 1:1-8: Embracing Courage and Confidence in God

Understanding 2 Timothy 1:1-8: Embracing Courage and Confidence in God

In 2 Timothy 1:1-8, the Apostle Paul writes to his beloved disciple Timothy, offering encouragement and reassurance amid challenges and fears. This passage is rich with themes of faith, courage, and the power of God’s Spirit.

A Greeting Rooted in Grace and Purpose
Paul starts by reminding Timothy that he is an apostle of Jesus Christ through God’s will, emphasizing that their shared calling is rooted in divine purpose. Paul’s own life is a testament to God’s grace, which has been extended to him—despite his past, God’s grace transforms and empowers.

God Has Not Given Us a Spirit of Fear
A central theme is in verse 7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.” This verse reassures believers that fear is not from God. Instead, God equips us with power to stand strong, love to motivate our actions, and a sound mind to think and act wisely. It’s a reminder that fear should not hold us back from living boldly for Christ.

Encouragement to Be Courageous and Faithful
Paul urges Timothy not to be ashamed of his faith or of Paul suffering for their beliefs. Instead, he encourages Timothy to ‘fan into flame’ the gift of God within him—a metaphor for nurturing the spiritual abilities and calling God has placed on his life. This helps us understand that our spiritual gifts require ongoing cultivation and confidence.

The Call to Boldness
Through these verses, Paul reminds Timothy—and us—that we are called to be courageous witnesses for Christ. The motivation is rooted in knowing that the Spirit of God is with us, empowering us to face fears, persevere through difficulties, and stay faithful even in tough circumstances.

A Personal Invitation
Finally, Paul’s words serve as a personal invitation to trust in God’s power and love rather than our own strength or fear. They challenge us to live a life of bold faith, trusting that God’s Spirit is sufficient for any challenge we face.

In Summary
2 Timothy 1:1-8 encourages us to reject fear and embrace our divine empowerment. It reminds us that, as followers of Christ, we have been given everything we need—power, love, and a sound mind—to live confidently and boldly for God’s kingdom. Amid life’s struggles, we can rest assured that God’s Spirit within us makes us resilient and courageous.

Prayer.

Heavenly Father,
You have not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Help me to be courageous and faithful in sharing Your Word.
Strengthen me to stand firm in my faith, trusting in Your victory.
Thank You for Your spirit that empowers me today and always.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.

Begin Your Day with Prayer

Begin Your Day with Prayer

Loved child of God, before the world rushes in before the sun rises, before we get out of bed , to start our day with all its noise—traffic, stress, life’s chaos and demands—we must take just two minutes now to honor and connect with God.

This moment is sacred. It is powerful. Today, you rise with faith and prayer, choosing to put God first.

When you prioritize Him, all burdens lighten. Let go of yesterday’s worries—all those locked doors and past stresses—trust that everything will fall into place because you’ve set your focus on Him.

Remember Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33:
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”

Your peace, your protection, your health—everything you need is linked to God’s love. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

By starting your day with prayer, you silence the enemy’s voice and open your heart to divine guidance.

Begin with reading Psalm 5: “Lord, You hear me when I call.”

Today, we lift our voices and hearts to You, Creator of heaven and earth. Watch over us and those we love. Keep us safe, healthy, happy, and prosperous.

We refuse to let yesterday’s baggage control us today. As the sun rises, may its light dispel all darkness within and around us.

Clothe us in the full armor of God—shield us from illness, negativity, evil influences, and spiritual attacks. Surround us with guardian angels.

Today, Lord, we speak healing over our bodies, wisdom over our finances, and strength over our spirits. We ask for Your protection over every aspect of our lives and those we hold dear.

May we draw closer to You throughout the day, praying, listening, and trusting in Your divine plan.

Thank You for Your endless love and grace.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
Amen.

How Not to Be Like This Man: Lessons on Compassion, Respect, and Christian Conduct

Recently, a disturbing incident unfolded in Florida where a man was arrested for repeatedly aiming sprinklers at students with disabilities as they waited for a school bus. Charged with stalking and battery, this man’s actions reflect a blatant disregard for human dignity and the teachings of Christ.

As followers of Christ, we are called to demonstrate love, compassion, and respect for all people, especially those who are vulnerable or in need. Jesus Himself set the perfect example:
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34)

How Not to Be Like This Man

  1. Disregard for Others’ Dignity
This man attempted to harm or humiliate children with disabilities—an act profoundly contrary to the dignity we are all created with in God’s image. As Scripture reminds us,
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27)
Our actions should reflect respect for every person, regardless of their abilities or circumstances.
  2. Failure to Show Compassion
Christ calls us to show compassion, especially to the vulnerable. In Matthew 25:40, Jesus teaches:
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.”
Instead of cruelty, Christians are called to be compassionate and kind.
  3. Lack of Self-Control and Love
The Scriptures warn us about the importance of self-control and love. Galatians 5:22-23 states:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
Acts of harassment and harm stem from a lack of these fruits. We must nurture them within ourselves.

The Lesson

This incident serves as a stark reminder of what it means to truly live out our faith. Christianity is not just about words; it’s about our actions—our respect, kindness, and the love we show to others.

How can we ensure we follow this path?

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect, especially those who are vulnerable or different.
  • Show compassion and kindness in all our interactions.
  • Exercise self-control, resisting temptations to harm or belittle others.
  • Pray daily for a heart of love and the strength to act justly.

In Conclusion

Let us reflect on our actions and motivations. Are we demonstrating Christ’s love in our everyday lives? Remember Galatians 6:9-10:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people…”

May we be inspired by Christ’s example to be kind, caring, and respectful—especially toward those most in need of love and compassion.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Luke 6:31)

Heavenly Father,
Please soften the hearts of those who are cruel and callous. Convict them with Your love, and change their hearts to reflect Your kindness and mercy.
Transform them, Lord, and restore their compassion.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

The Most Important Thing I Carry with Me Every Day: My Faith in God

When someone asks me, “What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?”, I don’t think of an object like my keys or phone. Instead, I think of something much deeper—my faith and belief in God.

For me, this faith is my constant companion. It’s what brings comfort during my pain, struggles and also joy in my victories. No matter what challenges I face—whether good or not so good—I truly believe that I am never alone. God is with me, guiding me every step of the way, even when life feels uncertain, unfair or difficult.

Never Alone in Life’s Ups and Downs

Life is full of unexpected twists and turns. Sometimes, I encounter hurdles that leave me feeling overwhelmed or unsure. But my faith reminds me that I don’t have to face these moments on my own. Scripture reassures me: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). This promise gives me peace and reassurance that I carry deep in my heart every day.

When I’m walking through challenges, I lean into my belief that God’s presence is constant. It’s a comforting thought—that I’m not alone in my struggles, and I don’t have to carry the weight of everything myself.

Faith as My Source of Strength

My belief in God doesn’t mean I don’t feel pain or face difficulties. It means I choose to trust that He is with me, giving me strength and courage. Even when I feel weak, my faith reminds me that His grace is sufficient. It’s this trust that helps me stay hopeful, resilient, and motivated to keep moving forward.

Living with Faith

Having faith isn’t just something I hold onto in times of trouble—it’s a daily way of life. It influences how I see the world, how I react to situations, and how I interact with others. Knowing that God always has my back gives me peace and confidence every morning I wake up.

My Personal Reflection

For me, carrying my faith in God is like carrying a precious treasure; it sustains me, renews me, and keeps me grounded. It’s the one thing I know I can rely on no matter what life throws my way. And in holding onto that belief, I find the strength to face each day with hope and gratitude.

So for me

The most important thing I carry with me is my faith—my unwavering trust in God’s love and presence. It’s perhaps the greatest gift I have, guiding me through life’s journey and constantly reminding me that I am never truly alone.

I’ve experienced many moments when God’s presence was my solace and strength. When I was a battered wife in my first marriage, I felt His comfort and protection. When I was grieving the loss of my parents, God was right there with me, offering peace in my sorrow. When I suffered second-degree burns after a doctor gave me the wrong medication and I almost died, I knew God was with me, holding me through the pain. Even in a frightening moment in high school, when a group of jocks attacked me, God was with me—protected and ultimately rescuing me through a friend who drove by and saw what was happening.

God has been with me in every joyful milestone: the birth of my daughter and granddaughter, my marriage to my second husband, family holidays past and present and countless moments filled with laughter and love.

With God, you are NEVER alone. Your family and friends may love you, and they may say they are there for you, but sometimes life’s frustrations, misunderstandings, illness, or silent moments make you feel isolated. During those times, I turn to God. His presence reminds me that even when I feel all alone, I am never truly without His love.

No matter what life throws your way, hold onto your faith — it’s your strongest refuge and your greatest source of peace. Remember, with God by your side, you are never alone.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” — Philippians 4:13

What Truly Makes a Good Marriage

A good marriage isn’t about finding a perfect partner—because no one is perfect. It’s about two imperfect people committed to each other, refusing to give up on each other through sickness, health, wealth, poverty, or any challenge that life throws their way. They don’t allow abuse of any kind especially physical in a relationship. They respect each other.

That’s holiness; that’s sanctity—choosing to love and communicate even in the hardest times, and standing firm together in faith.

When you step into an engagement or marriage, you are doing so before God Himself, declaring that this person is above all others, even above your career or worldly pursuits. But for a marriage to last, God must be the center. Without Him, the union will struggle to survive; with Him, it can thrive. You go to church together.

You cannot disrespect, cheat, or mistreat your fiancé or spouse and expect everlasting love. Forgiveness is essential, but repeated mistakes—especially in areas of addiction, abuse, or disloyalty—are signs that you may be unequally yoked. If your partner struggles with gambling, drinking, drugs, or unhealthy behaviors, and they aren’t seeking change, it’s wise to pause before making lifelong commitments.

If you’re a believer, dating someone who does not share your Christian values or belief in Christ , it may lead to difficulties in your marriage. Unequally yoked couples often face serious challenges because their foundational principles are different. They don’t share the same reverence for God, they may think they are above God. But many things in their life may happen to them that is their wake up call and they refuse to see the signs.

Scriptures to Guide Your Heart:

  • 2 Corinthians 6:14
“Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?”
  • Ephesians 5:25
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

Marriage is a lifelong journey built on Christ’s love, mutual respect, honesty, and faithfulness. Choose wisely, keep God at the center, and remember, true holiness is in loving each other as Christ loves us.

So if you have someone you don’t want to lose treat the right.

If the person you are it his not who you want to be linked to for a lifetime commitment look at the relationship before you marry.

God does not want you abused. If you are get help if you have addiction, abuse or narcissistic behaviors get help now.

A Prayer for All Married and Engaged Couples

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with humble hearts, lifting up all those who are married. I pray that You fill their hearts with Your love—so deep, so enduring—that they continue to love each other selflessly, putting You first in their relationship. May they cherish one another above all else, respecting, forgiving, and supporting each other through every challenge and blessing.

For those who are in marriages where they feel unequally yoked, Lord, I ask for Your healing and guidance. Break any chains of misunderstanding, resentment, or conflict. Restore their unity and help them to see Your plan for their marriage. Heal wounds, soften hardened hearts, and draw them into Your love.

For those engaged or contemplating marriage with someone who does not share their faith or values, I pray for Your divine insight. Open their eyes to see clearly, Lord—whether this relationship is aligned with Your will or if they need to wait and trust in Your perfect timing.

Lord, Your Word says in Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” We trust You to lead every couple on the path of righteousness and peace.

We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
