In our journey through life, we often encounter people who play significant roles in our story, some for a season and others for a lifetime. It’s important to recognize that not everyone we meet is meant to stay forever. Just as seasons change, so do our relationships, and that’s part of the beauty of life.
Sometimes, we may find that those closest to us aren’t as supportive as we hoped. It can be disheartening to face negativity from our inner circle, especially when we seek encouragement and understanding. As we strive to grow and elevate ourselves to new levels, it’s essential to reflect on who is walking alongside us.
It’s not about placing blame or saying someone has changed; it’s about acknowledging that perhaps they’re not ready to move forward with us. Sometimes, letting go is necessary for our own growth. We can appreciate the moments shared but recognize that it’s time to take a different path.
This isn’t an easy realization, and making such decisions can be challenging. However, it’s crucial to cleanse our lives of distractions and doubts at different stages of our journey. This choice doesn’t diminish the love we feel for them; rather, it emphasizes the importance of loving ourselves, too.
Remember, it’s okay to prioritize your well-being while holding onto the cherished memories. God has great plans for you, and part of walking in that purpose means aligning yourself with the right people. Embrace the journey ahead with faith and courage!

As Hurricane Milton approaches the Yucatán Peninsula, we lift up prayers for the safety of all those in its path. We ask You, Lord, to weaken this storm as it moves toward Florida.
We pray for those who need to evacuate, that they may do so safely and swiftly. For travelers flying into or out of Florida, may their journeys be timely and without incident.
Surround the people of Florida with Your protective hedge. We ask for Your safeguarding presence over the nurses and doctors sheltering in hospitals and nursing homes during this time of uncertainty.
We also pray for our courageous police, fire personnel, and all first responders. Keep them safe as they serve our communities. For those working in power and utility companies, grant them protection as well.
We remember the homeless, asking that they find shelter and safety. For those who choose to stay instead of evacuating, we pray for their protection and encourage a change of heart to leave if necessary.
For those newcomers who have recently moved to Florida, instill in them a sense of peace and calm, allowing them to focus on preparation without fear.
My cousin Bob was just age 40 and he suddenly passed away and it really sucks. He was in the hospital a week ago and left after a few days. We discussed many things about health.
He was home and still struggling off and on with ability to eat certain things and had very low energy, based on our conversations via text
Losing a loved one is one of life’s most challenging experiences. The rawness of grief can feel overwhelming, wrapping around us like a very heavy weighted wet blanket that we can’t shake off, we try to move on but that weight can often stay with us for a long time if we don’t learn to work through it.
We grieve not only because we won’t see them again but also for the precious memories we shared. Each moment, each laugh, and even the tears now hold a bittersweet weight.
In our sorrow, it’s essential to remember that our loved ones are often called home for reasons beyond our understanding. Whether their passing resulted from illness, an accident, or simply the natural progression of life, they have been welcomed into the arms of Jesus. While our hearts ache, let’s take solace in the rejoicing that is undoubtedly happening in heaven right now.
Imagine—his mother my cousin Ginger joyously celebrating his arrival, his grandparents, his great grandparents, embracing him with open arms, and those aunts, uncles, and cousins who’ve gone before him all gathered together with love and laughter. They aren’t suffering; they are whole again, free from pain, waiting for the moment when we’ll join them in eternal peace.
I think often of my own parents and the day I will see them again. This hope brings me comfort amid the pain. It reminds me that while we are left behind to navigate our grief, we can carry their memory forward in our hearts.
It’s crucial to understand that our own, illness, grief, and loss are not punishments or faults of God. Life is a journey where death is part of the cycle. From the moment we are born, our days are numbered, and we never know when our time may come. Sometimes life’s clock strikes earlier for some, whether they are young or old, leaving us with an ache no words can soothe.
In this difficult time, what we must focus on is how we choose to live while we are still here.
Those of us remaining have a responsibility to honor our departed loved ones through our actions. We need to carry out their wishes as best as we can. Because that’s the last thing we will get to do for them. But we also need to strive to be better people period…. Stop bickering, stop gossiping, it’s one thing to talk to other’s about situations but to purposefully cut others down because you have an ax to grind is wrong, as is holding a grudge.
We can and must strive to be kinder to one another, more patient, and more loving. We should also open ourselves to receive help if we need it, understanding that vulnerability is not a weakness but part of being human.
We cannot allow grief to engulf us completely. Our loved ones wouldn’t want that for us. They would want us to cry for a moment but dry our tears and remember the joy, laughter, and beautiful moments we shared.
So, as we remember our loved ones that have now passed we must continue navigating our lives, let’s commit to doing something kind for someone else. Whether it’s for a stranger or a family member, let’s make a conscious effort to be better human beings.
Im going to reflect on the joy we experienced with Bobby—the laughter, the shared stories, and the love. He is now resting in the presence of our Heavenly Father, reunited with those he cherished most. Though we may feel the sting of loss, we can find comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. Instead, he is smiling down at us, encouraging us to embrace life to its fullest until it’s our turn to go home.
And when that glorious day comes, just imagine the warm welcome we will receive as we step through those heavenly gates, greeted by Bobby and all our loved ones who have crossed before us. Until then, let us live in honor of their memories and cherish every moment we have with those still beside us.
Life can often feel like a series of trials and tribulations. Whether it’s dealing with job loss, relocation challenges, childcare issues, or adult children facing difficulties, the weight of these struggles can be overwhelming.
In moments like these, it’s vital to remember that sometimes God takes us back a bit to thrust us forward, guiding us through the fire rather than leaving us alone in it.
Surrender to God’s Will
Surrendering to God’s will is not always easy. We may find ourselves questioning our circumstances and complaining about our plight. But in those moments of turmoil, we must remind ourselves that God is present in the fire with us. He does not abandon us in times of trouble; instead, He walks alongside us, offering strength and guidance.
When you feel overwhelmed, it’s crucial to stop worrying and complaining, and instead turn your heart towards praise. Gratitude shifts our focus from our problems to God’s greatness. When we express our trust in Him—like Jesus did when He prayed, “Not my will, but yours be done”—we invite peace into our hearts.
A Shift in Perspective
Imagine transforming your question marks into exclamation marks! Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” declare, “God is with me in this!” By shifting our perspective, we foster an attitude of hope and resilience.
Take the story of Abraham as an example. Abraham longed for a son, and after years of waiting, he and Sarah took matters into their own hands by trying to fulfill God’s promise in their way. But God had a different plan. When Sarah finally became pregnant with Isaac, God tested Abraham’s faith by asking him to sacrifice his son. Despite his fear, Abraham obeyed, demonstrating profound trust in God.
Just when Abraham was ready to follow through, God provided a ram to take Isaac’s place—a testament that God’s plan was in motion all along, even when Abraham couldn’t see it. This story serves as a powerful reminder that when faced with our own trials, we should give them to God and trust in His divine timing and purpose.
Finding Peace Amidst Chaos
In the chaos of life, remember to return to a place of peace. God is always at work, even when we cannot see it. Praise Him instead of focusing on your worries, and watch how His presence transforms your situation.
As we navigate our challenges, let these scriptures guide you:
Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
So, the next time you feel overwhelmed by life’s trials, remember the stories of faith and the truth found in scripture. Stop the worrying and complaining; instead, surrender your will to God and trust in His plan. Know that He is by your side, working everything out for your good. Let’s praise Him through our struggles, turning those question marks into victorious exclamation marks!
Living in Central Florida has its perks, especially when it comes to enjoying the beautiful sunshine and vibrant culture. However, as we brace ourselves during hurricane season, the experience takes on a different tone—one of mixed emotions, fear, and gratitude. As Hurricane Helene approaches, I’m reminded of the duality of our experiences: the anxiety of the storm alongside a profound sense of relief that we’re not facing the worst of it.
A Tale of Two Towns: Resilience Amidst Chaos
While we prepared for 45-65 mph winds here in Central Florida, my thoughts are with those in Tallahassee, who are bearing the brunt of 120 mph winds. It’s moments like these that put things into perspective. We feel fortunate to be sheltered from the worst, yet heartbroken for those whose lives may be irrevocably changed. My prayers go out to each person in the path of Helene. May God shield them, providing strength and safety as they navigate this challenge.
The Emotional Toll of Hurricane Season
Hurricane season is not just about the winds and rainfall; it’s also about the emotional weight that comes with it. For many, especially those who have faced loss in the past, there can be an overwhelming sense of anxiety. Memories of previous storms, the destruction, and the heartbreaking aftermath can resurface, creating a deep sense of dread. It’s a reminder that while we may feel safe today, nature’s unpredictability can bring uncertainty at any moment.
Yet, within this turmoil, there lies an opportunity for connection. Times of crisis often bring communities together, reminding us of the strength in unity. Neighbors come together, offering support, sharing resources, and standing in solidarity. It’s a beautiful testament to the human spirit, showing that amid adversity, we can find comfort in one another.
Sending Positive Vibes and Prayers
As we navigate these uncertain times, I encourage everyone to send positive vibes to those in the paths of both Hurricane Helene and the newly forming Hurricane Isaac. Let’s wrap our thoughts and prayers around people who may be impacted by these storms. May they find strength, hope, and resilience during this challenging time.
Let’s take a moment to express our gratitude for what we do have. In the face of adversity, we are reminded of the importance of community, compassion, and kindness. We are still here, and that alone is something worth celebrating.
In moments like these—when nature reminds us of its power and unpredictability—let’s choose to stand together. Let’s hold each other up and extend our hearts to those who need it the most. Whether you’re in Central Florida or elsewhere, your positive energy can make a difference. So, let’s pray not only for those affected but also for our own continued safety and courage in the face of it all.

Grandparents day was Sunday and my husband Tom had to get ready to go out of town and my granddaughter and I met up Monday or Tuesday because they were traveling and I was really surprised when she had this gift for us because I don’t really expect gifts but I think it’s extremely amazing how she always remembers us.
Our granddaughter surprised us with an Echo Go hydrogen water bottle,
I had For seen one in her car one day when she came to pick me up and we went to the mall and I asked her what it was cause I never seen a water bottle with a USB port so she was explaining it to me and I thought that was pretty cool at the time she said I’ll get you one. I said no don’t be spending your money on us. That’s fine well little did I know we ended up with one for grandparents day and honestly it was a great gift. .
Since receiving this amazing water bottle, I’ve made it a point to drink at least 24 ounces of hydrogen-enriched water every day. And let me tell you, the results have been quite remarkable!
As someone living with osteoarthritis, I know all too well the daily struggles that come with joint pain and oh my the stiffness. Some days I think the stiffness is worse than the joint pain . My condition affects my neck, spine, knees, hands, and even my feet. Coupled with spondylolisthesis in my L5-S1 and osteonecrosis in my right knee, it can make simple activities feel daunting. However, since moving to sunny Florida, I have noticed a significant improvement in my pain levels. LGone are the days of harsh Ohio winters, where temperatures can plummet to 5 or even 10 degrees below zero, with winds that chill you to the bone and risk frostbite. Here, I can enjoy a milder climate, and my body is thanking me for it.
While I do miss the beauty of snow-covered landscapes, The leaves changing in October on the trees to a flame red and a bright gold and a beautiful orange, I certainly don’t miss the biter cold. The warm weather has helped ease my joint pain, but not the stiffness but the addition of the Echo Go hydrogen water into my daily routine seems to be a game-changer. I
’ve noticed that my stiffness—especially after sitting for long periods in car or when I wake up in the morning—has significantly lessened. I’m not saying I’m cured by any means, but the stiffness is a lot less severe . Now, I’m not claiming to be an expert; I’m simply sharing my experience.
I feel incredibly grateful for our granddaughter’s thoughtful gift. It’s always a joy to spend time with her she is kind, funny, and wonderfully genuine.
Her presents are always unique and meaningful, a reflection of her loving nature and how much she values our relationship. We don’t ever want her to think we expect things from her because that’s not what we’re about but I see a lot of my dad and myself and her because she pays attention to things and then when you’re least expecting it, she surprises you . In a world that moves so quickly, moments spent with family are treasures to cherish.
If you’re on the fence about trying hydrogen water, I encourage you to consider investing in a quality product like the Echo Go. Don’t waste your time or money on cheaper alternatives that don’t deliver on their promises. After all, if you want to feel your best, it’s essential to use products that actually work.
As I reflect on this day filled with gratitude, I’m reminded of the importance of family. Grandchildren, no matter their age—be it toddlers, teenagers, or adults—are a true blessing. They enrich our lives in ways that words can scarcely capture. So, let’s appreciate our family members while we have them around and celebrate the love that binds us together.
Wishing you all a blessed day filled with family, joy, and cherished memories. Happy Grandparents Day!

Finding Your Worth Through God: A Journey of PurposeIn a world where many people feel lost or uncertain about their purpose, one question looms large: How do we find our self-worth? Today, I want to share my journey of discovering my value through faith in God, and I hope it inspires you to seek your own purpose.
For a long time, I didn’t understand who I was or what I was worth. There was a period in my life when I felt completely stripped of my identity, especially during my first marriage, which was marked by abuse. I lacked confidence, self-esteem, and the sense that I had any purpose at all. I was merely a shell of the person I once was. It was a dark time, one that many can relate to in different forms.
But through this struggle, I slowly began to find myself again. The turning point came when I started reading my Bible and attending church. I met nice men and women who shown me love, they were good decent and kind people who, while not perfect, radiated goodness and love. They helped me rebuild my self-confidence and reminded me that I was worthy of love—a truth that had been obscured by the pain I experienced.
Let me pause here to emphasize something incredibly important: No matter what you’re going through—be it depression, unhappiness in a relationship, loneliness, grief, or even addiction—turn to God. He is always there, ready to help you find your purpose. His love for you is unconditional; unlike others who may disappoint you, God will never let you down. He is always in your corner, cheering you on because He knows your true worth—after all, He made you in His image.
As you embark on this journey of self-discovery and purpose, consider what you’re passionate about. Perhaps your calling lies in teaching, entrepreneurship, homemaking, healthcare, ministry, advocacy, or community service. Regardless of the path you choose, remember to do it with passion and dedication for the Lord. When you align your actions with your faith, you’ll find that your purpose shines through.
It’s important to note that you don’t need advanced degrees or accolades to have worth or a purpose. Your value comes from being uniquely created by God. Anyone can find meaning in their life through Him, regardless of their educational background or societal status.
So, how do you begin this journey of finding your purpose? Start by diving into the Word of God. Pray earnestly, asking Him to reveal your purpose to you. Reflect on what brings you joy and fulfillment. You might be surprised to discover that your passions are closely aligned with God’s plan for you.
And trust me on this: as you seek Him, you will see your purpose shine brightly before you.
In closing, I want to remind you that our journeys may differ, but we all share a fundamental need for love, value, and purpose. Embrace the imperfections of your humanity, and know that you are worthy. Surround yourself with supportive individuals, engage with your faith, and allow God to guide you toward the incredible life He has planned for you.
Thank you for stopping by here today. Let’s continue to encourage one another as we seek to find our worth through God!
She lost her job last year after the company she was working for was sold. Since then, she has been taking on temporary jobs that don’t quite align with her skills and interests. She wonders why her prayers seem to go unanswered when it comes to finding a more suitable opportunity for herself.
He recently relocated for a job that paid well and utilized his skills, only to discover that the company wasn’t as reputable as he had hoped. Despite being promised a role that involved both driving and wrenching, the reality fell short of expectations. Misled by false assurances, he went from feeling content to deeply discouraged.
Having moved and started working remotely, she lost her job just 3 weeks after beginning in a new state. Now, after four months of unemployment, she finds herself on the brink of losing everything she has worked so hard for.
He was excelling as a nurse, on track for a promotion, until a new supervisor who held personal biases against him came into the picture. Despite his qualifications, the supervisor favored her friends for raises and promotions, leading to a toxic work environment that ultimately forced him to resign. This experience left him homeless and turning to alcohol as a coping mechanism.
Why do those in positions of power often act unfairly and deceitfully? How can individuals navigate such challenging situations?
As Americans celebrate Labor Day today, let us take a moment to honor the hardworking individuals who have contributed to making our nation a better place. Across the globe, similar annual observances recognize the value of labor.
The Bible speaks of the virtuous woman setting about her work vigorously (Proverbs 31:17). Labor Day serves as a reminder of the dignity and significance of work in God’s eyes. Our ability to work is a gift from God, and regardless of our occupation, we are called to fulfill our responsibilities faithfully and excellently. Reflecting on Jesus’ life as a carpenter, we are reminded of the importance of craftsmanship and dedication in our work.
While hoping for new opportunities in the future, I urge you to remain steadfast in prayer and diligent in your search. Gratitude for your current job, even amidst uncertainty, is essential. In a world where unemployment remains prevalent, acknowledging the blessings of steady employment is vital. Cultivate a spirit of thankfulness, as encouraged by Ephesians 5:20.
Remember, God’s love for you is unwavering, and His plans are always for your good. Strive to live for Christ and prioritize His will in all aspects of your life, including your work. Colossians 3:23 exhorts us to dedicate ourselves to our tasks wholeheartedly, as if working for the Lord rather than for human approval.
Do you ever hear God speaking to you? Are you unsure ?
As believers, we should always be receptive to guidance from the Lord. However, discerning whether a prompting is truly from Him can often be challenging. Thankfully, the Word of God provides us with clear principles to help us determine His voice.
Throughout my life, I have experienced God’s voice during critical moments—offering warnings or comfort when I needed it most. But the question remains: Are we listening?
Romans 8:14 reminds us that “those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” As His children, we are entitled to be led by the Spirit. Yet, we may still find ourselves questioning, “Is this truly the Lord?”
The story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19 illustrates how God often speaks not through dramatic events but through a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12). If a prompting feels like chaos or confusion, it likely isn’t from God. More often than not, His guidance comes quietly, inviting us to listen closely.
In James 3:17, we learn about the characteristics of wisdom from heaven: it is pure, peace-loving, considerate, full of mercy, and sincere. When faced with a decision, ask yourself:
Is this leading godly and pure?
Does it promote peace?
Is it considerate and merciful?
Does it bear good fruit?
Conversely, if it feels earthly, unspiritual, or even hints at envy or selfish ambition, reject it. These traits lead us away from God’s true path.
Additionally, consider the gifts of the Holy Spirit as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:7. Will this gift serve the common good? Is it rooted in love and aimed at encouraging others?
Finally, Isaiah 8:20 tells us that any leading from God will align with Scripture. The Bible is our compass; if a prompting contradicts its teachings, it cannot be from God.
In summary, as we seek to discern God’s voice, let us be guided by the peace, purity, and scriptural alignment of what we hear. May we always strive to listen attentively and respond faithfully.
Today we are called to explore a powerful theme that lies at the heart of our faith: obedience.
In a world filled with challenges, misunderstandings, and unmet expectations, we often find ourselves grappling with how to respond to those who hurt us, how to step into roles that stretch our capabilities, and how to follow God’s instructions even when they seem daunting. The power to obey is not merely about following rules; it is an act of faith that transforms our hearts and our lives.
The Challenge of Forgiveness Let’s begin with forgiveness. When someone hurts us deeply, our instinct may be to hold on to that pain, to seek retribution or to retreat into bitterness. However, in Matthew 6:14-15, Jesus teaches us that “if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Forgiveness may feel impossible, but it is a command from God. You don’t have to become their friend or hang out with them, but you should obey God and forgive them.
When we choose to forgive, we activate the power of obedience. This power frees us from the chains of resentment and allows God’s grace to flow through us. Consider Joseph in Genesis. After being betrayed by his brothers, he could have chosen revenge, but instead, he forgave them and said, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). His obedience to forgive transformed not only his own life but the lives of many others.
Stepping Into the Unknown Next, let’s talk about stepping into positions or responsibilities we feel unqualified for. How many times have we hesitated to take a job, lead a ministry, or embark on a new venture because we doubted our ability? Yet, God often calls us to places beyond our comfort zones.
In 1 Samuel 16, God chose David to be king when he was just a shepherd boy, seemingly unqualified for such a noble position. But David didn’t allow his insecurity to dictate his response. He obeyed God’s call, and through his faithfulness, he became a man after God’s own heart.
When we accept God’s call, even in our unpreparedness, we activate His power within us. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It is not about our qualifications but about our willingness to obey and trust in God’s equipping.
Acting on God’s Instructions Finally, let’s discuss the importance of acting upon God’s instructions. James 1:22 exhorts us to be “doers of the word, and not hearers only.” When God gives us guidance, whether through Scripture, prayer, or the promptings of the Holy Spirit, it’s crucial to act.
Imagine Moses at the Red Sea. Faced with an insurmountable obstacle and the threat of Pharaoh’s army, what if Moses had hesitated? Instead, he obeyed God’s instructions to lift his staff, and the waters parted. His action in obedience activated God’s miraculous power to deliver His people.
Remember that the power to obey is transformative. When we forgive those who have wronged us, we release both them and ourselves from the burdens of unforgiveness. When we step into roles we feel unqualified for, we open ourselves to God’s training and growth. And when we act on God’s instructions, we witness His mighty hand at work.
Let us, therefore, commit ourselves to activate this power through obedience. Let’s choose to forgive, embrace new opportunities, and act faithfully on God’s Word. As we walk in obedience, we will experience the fullness of life that comes from trusting God completely. May we pray for strength and courage to obey, knowing that our faithful actions invite divine power into our lives. Amen.
