Faith in Action: Living Out the Word

In the tapestry of Christian faith, threads of belief and action intricately weave together to form a vibrant expression of discipleship. James, in his epistle, underscores this union, stressing the inseparability of faith and works. Drawing from James 1:23-25 and 2:14-17, we’re reminded that mere hearing of the Word without corresponding action renders faith ineffective.

Faith, devoid of action, resembles a fleeting glance in a mirror, quickly forgotten once the observer turns away. Yet, true discipleship involves a deeper engagement—a persistent gaze into the perfect law of liberty, culminating in proactive obedience. This obedience isn’t borne out of obligation but springs forth from the transformative work of the Holy Spirit within believers.

James challenges us to examine the authenticity of our faith by assessing our deeds. Merely professing faith while neglecting the tangible needs of others reveals a faith devoid of vitality. True faith, on the other hand, manifests in acts of compassion, service, and selflessness, mirroring the love of Christ.

As recipients of God’s unconditional love, we’re called to extend that same love to others through our actions. Our identity as disciples isn’t confined to doctrinal affirmations but finds its fullest expression in the way we live out our beliefs. Our lives become living testimonies—a tangible reflection of God’s grace and mercy.

Gathering for worship is essential, but it’s incomplete without the outward expression of our faith in everyday life. Our faith is authenticated not by words alone but by the transformative power evident in our deeds. Let us resolve to be not just hearers of the Word but active doers, bearing witness to God’s love in a world hungry for hope and compassion.

Faith and action are inseparable companions on the journey of discipleship. Let us embrace this truth wholeheartedly, allowing our lives to be living epistles, read and known by all, as we embody the love and grace of our Savior in both word and deed.

Take the Glow Up Challenge

A glow up challenge for women or men is a personal transformation journey focused on various aspects of one’s life to feel more confident, empowered, and overall radiant. It typically involves setting goals in areas such as physical health, skincare, fashion, self-care, mental well-being, and personal growth. Participants may engage in activities such as regular exercise, adopting a skincare routine, updating their wardrobe, practicing self-love and mindfulness, learning new skills, and pursuing personal development objectives. The glow up challenge is about investing in oneself, embracing positive changes, and ultimately achieving a more vibrant and fulfilled lifestyle.

“Dear God, as we embark on this glow up challenge, guide us in our personal transformation journey. Grant us strength and motivation to focus on enhancing various aspects of our lives, including physical fitness, grooming, spiritual mental health, and career development. May we find confidence and self-esteem in the positive changes we make, and may we always strive for a more fulfilling and confident lifestyle. As we get closer to you in the word also.

Amen.”

Encounters In Our Lives

In life, we are not solitary beings but interconnected threads woven together by a divine purpose. God orchestrates the encounters and relationships in our lives with deliberate intention. Each person we meet, every soul we touch, is not by chance but by divine design. We are called to be catalysts for each other’s growth and success, to uplift and empower one another to reach our fullest potential.

As we journey through life, let us remember the profound impact of believing in others. Our encouragement, support, and belief in their abilities can ignite the spark that propels them toward their destiny. Like a beacon of light, let our faith in others shine brightly, guiding them through the darkness of doubt and fear.

In Philippians 2:3-4, the Bible reminds us, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Through selfless love and genuine care, we can inspire and empower those around us, enabling them to embrace their true potential and fulfill the purpose for which they were created. Let us be vessels of hope, agents of encouragement, and champions of each other’s dreams.

In every step I take

In every step I take, I am assured that God is orchestrating the path ahead, smoothing out every twist and turn before me. His divine presence ensures that even the most challenging circumstances are transformed into opportunities for growth and blessings. As Isaiah 45:2 reminds us, “I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.” With unwavering faith, I trust that God has strategically placed the right individuals in my life, each one instrumental in paving the way for success. Every encounter, every challenge, and every victory is part of His master plan, perfectly synchronized with His timing. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, I cling to the promise that nothing – no person, no illness, no setback – can thwart His purpose for me. For “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). With this declaration resonating in my heart, I walk in confidence, knowing that what God has spoken over my life will undoubtedly come to fruition. This unwavering belief fuels my journey, filling each day with hope, courage, and boundless possibilities. So, let us stand together, united in faith, as we proclaim His faithfulness and embrace the abundant blessings that await us. Amen.

Embracing God’s Love: Overcoming Obstacles with Faith

In the journey of life, obstacles are inevitable. Yet, as Christians, we are blessed with the unwavering love of God, a love that empowers us to conquer every challenge that comes our way. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when faced with adversity, but it’s crucial to remember that God is always by our side, guiding us through the storm.

In Romans 8:28, it’s written, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This powerful verse reminds us that even in the midst of trials, God is working behind the scenes for our benefit. Every setback is an opportunity for growth, every obstacle a chance to strengthen our faith.

When we shift our perspective and choose to see the positive in negative events, we unlock the transformative power of God’s love. Instead of dwelling on our struggles, we can rejoice in the knowledge that each challenge is a stepping stone on the path to fulfillment.

So, dear Christians, when we are faced with adversity, remember that you are not alone. Trust in God’s plan for your life, knowing that His love will carry you through every obstacle. Embrace the journey, for in the end, you will emerge stronger, wiser, and more deeply rooted in His love.

Just A Nobody

I listen to Z88.3 Orlando it’s a Christian radio station and I just love all the talks, music etc….

I listened to KLOVE when I lived in Ohio.

One of my favorite songs is by Casting Crowns called Nobody.

It’s basically saying what I have thought for the past few years, why me? Why was I selected and lead to take ministry classes? To be ordained when I am so flawed? We all have flaws but I wonder why God lead me to take classes the ultimately led me to become ordained.

Was it to teach me how to become better, wiser?

I’m just an ordinary person spreading the word about Jesus. In ways of stories I create , thoughts I have . And teachings I have studied as well as my own Life experiences etc..

The mystery of why You chose me Lord has persisted throughout my life. I’ve often been told that I belong at the end of the line with the Not-Quites and the Never-Get-It-Rights and How can you be a minister you used to swear smoke, etc….

As the song goes

I’m just a nobody, sharing the story of Somebody who saved my soul. Since You rescued me, my heart now sings a song,

In moments of doubt, when the devil questions my worth, I confidently respond that I’m just a nobody proclaiming Somebody great.

The stories of Moses’ stage fright and David facing a sword with a rock remind me that outsiders like the twelve You picked can change the world. Everyone has a purpose, and when the devil questions my identity, I assert that I’m just a nobody proclaiming Somebody who saved my soul.

Thank you Lord for saving me and allowing me to spread your word

And in the spirit of the message, let’s reflect on Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Here is the song by the casting crowns enjoy. Called Nobody

New Beginnings

In 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, the message is clear: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” As we enter the end of the first week of the New Year, people often make resolutions to change, but true new beginnings come only from God. Unlike human efforts, God can fundamentally transform us through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

To experience a genuine new beginning, we must recognize three areas where God might be calling us to change: Personally, Communally, and Missionally.

  1. Personally: Our vision for our lives should align with God’s plan – conformity to the image of Christ. This involves growing in maturity, experiencing God’s grace, and putting on the character of Christ. Let’s reflect and pray, asking God to reveal how we can conform to Jesus in the coming year.
  2. Communally: As a church community, we’re challenged to manifest God’s presence by growing in unity, love, and service. This includes intentional hospitality, encouraging conversations, discipleship, and addressing the needs within our community. Let’s seek God’s guidance on how we can mature spiritually and practically as a church.
  3. Missionally: God calls us to reach out to those outside His kingdom with love, grace, and truth. We need to see people as Jesus does – sheep without a shepherd. Our hope in the Gospel should renew our perspective on our city, state, and world. Let’s pray for God to touch our hearts and show us how to engage our city with the transformative power of the Gospel.

Remember all things are possible with God. By continually beholding the Lord in His word, we can be transformed into His likeness. As we commit ourselves to this, we’ll discern God’s calling for our lives personally, communally, and missionally.

A Victorious New Year: Embracing God’s Presence, Purpose, and Peace

As we now can say we rang in the New Year for many uncertainty looms in the world around us. Pictures of wars still going on, and personal trials can create a backdrop of anxiety. However, as a Christian, I find solace in the timeless truth that, no matter what the New Year holds, God will be with us.

Psalm 23:1 resonates deeply in my heart, reminding me that the Lord is my Shepherd, and I shall not want. This truth alone gives me cause for rejoicing and the ability to face the future without fear. The comforting presence of my Lord blesses me with a sense of security that transcends worldly uncertainties.

God’s will for us in the coming year is clear – to live victoriously. This victory is not about the absence of challenges but about our response to them. We can live without hopelessness, fear, and frustration if we commit to Christ and remain confident in His promises. Each day is an opportunity to live in a relationship with the living Savior, finding purpose and strength in Him.

In our quest for a positive New Year, let’s reflect on the unique ways people around the world seek blessings. While some partake in peculiar traditions like consuming black-eyed peas for health and wealth, or pork and sauerkraut for luck, I am reminded that true blessings come from a commitment to Christ and trust in His plans for us.

Amid a perilous world, the Apostle Paul’s experiences, as shared in 2 Corinthians 1:1-11, offer profound insights. He faced crisis after crisis but found inner strength and peace to rejoice in every situation through his unique relationship with the Lord. As we delve into Paul’s words, we uncover essential elements for a victorious New Year.

1. Salvation:
Our assurance of salvation provides a firm foundation for facing the uncertainties of the future. Paul’s unwavering confidence amidst suffering stemmed from the knowledge that salvation is not dependent on external conditions. Romans 8:28-39 reinforces this truth, assuring us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

2. Determination:
To live well in the New Year, we must remain determined to fulfill our God-given responsibilities. By concentrating on God’s will and bringing Him glory, we shift our focus from personal trials to the needs of others. Paul’s commitment to encouraging others amidst his own troubles exemplifies the determination needed for victorious living.

3. Appreciation:
An appreciation for God’s comforting presence in our lives leads to adoration, worship, and praise. Even in the valleys of life, David’s affirmation, “The Lord is my Shepherd,” echoes the divine peace that accompanies us through every trial. As we appreciate God’s goodness, we can face the New Year with a heart full of gratitude.

4. Dedication:
Rather than fleeting resolutions, a dedication to live in total dependence and commitment to Jesus is the key to a successful New Year. Placing all we are and have at His feet, we cast our cares upon Him, trusting in His promise to never leave nor forsake us (1 Peter 5:7).

In closing, let us approach the New Year with a sense of purpose, knowing that our victorious living is rooted in God’s presence, determination, appreciation, and dedication. As we navigate the uncertainties of the future, let’s do so with unwavering faith, embracing the promise that, no matter what lies ahead, God is with us, and in His presence, we find true victory.
