The reality that there is both light and darkness around us at all times.

“May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

This passage from Colossians emphasizes the transformation that occurs when we turn from darkness to light through our faith in Jesus Christ. It reminds us that as believers, we have been rescued from the domain of darkness and are now part of God’s kingdom of light. We are called to walk as children of light, as Ephesians 5:8 also emphasizes.

As we navigate the dualities of light and darkness in this world, let us remember that God’s desire is to shape us into reflections of His Son, Jesus, and to fill us with His glorious light. In our pursuit of the light, may we find endurance, patience, and joy, giving thanks for the forgiveness of our sins and the inheritance we share with the saints in light.

Let us be encouraged to open our eyes and see the glorious light before us each day, and to let it guide our steps and actions as we walk in faith.

The Challenging Path of Following Jesus: Embracing Faith Amidst Life’s Trials

When we decide to serve God and follow the path of Jesus, we often anticipate a smoother, problem-free journey. However, the reality is quite different. The devil may try to convince us that serving God means a life free of difficulties, but in truth, we encounter challenges and trials. In this blog post, we explore the idea that following Jesus doesn’t eliminate problems but provides us with something far more precious.

The Misconception of a Trouble-Free Life:
Choosing to serve God doesn’t mean that all our problems will magically disappear. Life’s trials, challenges, and obstacles will still be present. Following Jesus is not a guarantee of an easy, carefree existence.

The Value of Walking with Christ:
It’s important to recognize that even amidst life’s difficulties, our worst day with Jesus is far better than our best day without Him. When we choose to follow Jesus, we are never alone, and we don’t have to face life’s challenges in isolation. He is our constant companion and source of strength.

The Reality of Being a Christian:
Being a Christian is far from easy, and it doesn’t equate to a problem-free life. However, it is undoubtedly one of the best decisions we can make. Through our faith, we find a deeper purpose and a profound connection with the divine.

Living Out Our Faith:
Hearing and reading the Word of God is essential, but it’s just the beginning. The true essence of Christianity lies in living out our faith. It’s not enough to know God’s teachings; we must apply them in our daily lives.

I want to be kind to those who are not kind to me.

I want to bear good fruit

I want to be good to those who are not good to me.

I want to be nice to others on days I feel like crap and just want to be alone.

I want to be like Jesus

I want power over the devil.

Two Bible Verses to Encourage Your Journey:

  1. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) – “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” This verse reminds us that in our weakness, we find God’s strength.
  2. James 1:22 (NIV) – “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” This verse reinforces the importance of not just hearing or reading the Word but actively living according to it.

Choosing to serve God and follow Jesus is a decision that may not remove life’s challenges, but it provides us with something far greater—unwavering faith, a constant companion, and the strength to overcome. Being a Christian is not about an easy path, but it is undoubtedly the best journey we can embark upon. It’s a call to live out our faith, to be a light in the world, and to trust that God’s grace is sufficient, even in our weaknesses.

Embracing Happy Magnificent Mondays: A Personal Reflection

Happy Magnificent Monday, everyone! As the new work week dawns upon many us, I find myself filled with a sense of gratitude and purpose. It’s a day that sets the tone for the rest of the week, and I want to share some thoughts and inspirations with you all.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the routine of work, responsibilities, and the never-ending to-do lists. But as we embark on this new week, I’m reminded of the importance of dedicating our efforts to a higher purpose, a purpose that transcends the tasks on our desks.

One Bible verse that has always resonated with me and guides my approach to Mondays and every day is Colossians 3:23 (NIV): “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” This verse serves as a beautiful reminder that our work should be an offering to the divine, and it encourages us to give our very best, pouring our hearts into our endeavors.

But it’s not just about working diligently; it’s also about cultivating a spirit of gratitude. Practicing gratitude can transform our outlook on life. Even on the busiest Mondays, take a moment to count your blessings, big and small. Gratitude helps us find joy in the little things and appreciates the journey we’re on.

In addition to dedicating our work to a higher purpose and embracing gratitude, let’s also make an effort to be kind to others, especially strangers. We never truly know the battles someone else may be fighting, and a simple act of kindness can make a world of difference in their day. Kindness is a ripple effect; it not only brightens someone else’s life but also brings a sense of fulfillment to our own.

To encapsulate the spirit of Happy Magnificent Monday, I’d like to share a positive quote for the day: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs

So, as we embark on this week, let’s remember to work for a higher purpose, embrace gratitude, and spread kindness wherever we go. Let’s make this Happy Magnificent Monday the start of a remarkable week filled with purpose and positivity. Have a blessed day, my friends!

The Profound Impact of Kindness: Friends Restore Man’s 1973 Mustang Mach 1

The Profound Impact of Kindness: A Heartwarming Tale from the Car Enthusiast Community

In a world often characterized by its fast pace and self-interest, heartwarming stories that underscore the importance of kindness have the power to touch our souls and inspire us to be better individuals. A recent tale from the car enthusiast community in New Caney, Texas, serves as a poignant reminder that kindness knows no bounds and can make a profound difference in people’s lives.

The story revolves around a group of friends bound by their shared passion for classic cars, particularly a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1. What sets these enthusiasts apart is not just their appreciation for mechanical craftsmanship, but their unwavering dedication to compassion and community. Contrary to the stereotype that car enthusiasts are solely fixated on their vehicles, this heartwarming narrative demonstrates that they are driven by a greater purpose.

In the heart of this story lies a man diagnosed with ALS, whose lifelong dream of restoring his beloved ’73 Mach 1 seemed to be slipping away due to his declining health. However, the power of friendship and kindness prevailed as his old friends rallied together to ensure his dream became a reality. The restoration of the car wasn’t just an act of mechanics; it was an act of love, selflessness, and determination to bring joy to a friend’s life.

The climax of this tale took place at Valley Ranch Town Center, where the friends organized a classic car meet to present the fully restored Mustang to their ailing friend. The scene was nothing short of emotional, as the car cover was lifted to reveal a meticulously rejuvenated pony car. With the man’s family by his side, the gesture not only symbolized the revival of a vintage car but also the rekindling of hope and happiness in his heart.

The generosity displayed by these car enthusiasts resonates deeply, underscoring the true essence of the car community. It serves as a reminder that while cars may be the shared interest that brings them together, it’s their shared humanity that binds them as a community. Kindness, as demonstrated by this story, has the power to bridge gaps, foster connections, and make a lasting impact that extends far beyond the mechanical realm.

Furthermore, this narrative serves as an important lesson for all of us. It reminds us that acts of kindness need not be grand gestures; they can be as simple as lending a helping hand, offering support during challenging times, or even pursuing shared dreams. The story challenges us to recognize the inherent goodness within each of us and to take a step forward in making a positive difference in the lives of those around us.

In a world where negativity and cynicism can sometimes overshadow the good, this heartwarming tale from the car enthusiast community shines as a beacon of hope. It urges us to embrace kindness as an essential aspect of our lives, reminding us that, just like these generous friends from Texas, we too can contribute to a brighter and more compassionate world.

He reminded us of something maybe we forgot,” Watson said.

“Just do good stuff for people,” friend Mike Silva added. “That’s all that matters. Just do good stuff today.”

Walking Alongside Jesus

Stories from Jesus Day 1 of 10

Day 1: The Parable of the Good Samaritan

Hello friends,

Today, I want to share a story that Jesus told – the Parable of the Good Samaritan. In this tale, Jesus teaches us about compassion and kindness.

A man was traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was attacked by robbers who left him wounded on the side of the road. A priest and a Levite passed by, but both chose to ignore the injured man. Then, a Samaritan came along. Despite their cultural differences, he showed great compassion, tending to the man’s wounds and ensuring his safety.

Let’s look closer

The Parable of the Good Samaritan stands as a cherished gospel narrative, resonating with both young and old audiences. Found in Luke 10:29–37, the parable recounts an incident where a man traveling from Jerusalem to Jericho is assaulted by robbers, who not only rob him but also inflict harm. Despite the dire situation, a priest and a Levite pass by without extending help. Surprisingly, it’s a Samaritan who stops and tends to the injured man, going as far as taking him to an inn and covering his expenses.

But who were these Samaritans? They were the Jews’ reviled adversaries. Consequently, when considering that a Jew would typically be the protagonist in a Jesus story, the revelation that the hero is a Samaritan would have left listeners astounded. According to Levine, it’s only when we grasp this context that the parable’s potent message truly shines through.

The parable presents a contrasting view of existence, steering away from despair. It invokes the events of 2 Chronicles 28, wherein the Samaritans were persuaded by the prophet Oded to assist their Judean captives. This story insists that even those we view as enemies can become our neighbors, emphasizing that compassion transcends boundaries. Additionally, it serves as a reminder that forming judgments based on religious or ethnic differences ultimately leads to our own detriment, leaving us figuratively stranded.

This story also reminds us that kindness knows no boundaries and that we should treat everyone with love and care, just like the Samaritan did. Let’s strive to be the kind of people who uplift and support those in need, regardless of who they are.

Stay tuned for Day 2, where we will explore another captivating story from the life of Jesus. Until then, keep your hearts open and your spirits uplifted.

Blessings,
Deb

We Can All Begin Again

Hey there, beautiful souls! 💫

I wanted to take a moment and have a heart-to-heart with you about something that has been weighing on my mind lately. Let me ask you a question: Are you truly living your best life? Are you following your passions and pursuing your dreams fearlessly, or have you allowed fear and a lack of confidence to hold you back? If your answer doesn’t sit well with you, don’t worry, because I have some great news for you – it’s never too late to start again.

Too often, we find ourselves trapped in the comfort zone of a narrow life. We let our fears dictate our choices, playing it safe and sticking to what we know. But where does that really get us? It’s time to break free from those self-imposed limitations and make a decision right here, right now, that we will embrace a life of boldness, aggression, and unwavering confidence.

Now, let’s talk about fear. It’s a natural part of being human, and it’s okay to feel it. But here’s the secret: you don’t have to let fear control you. Instead, acknowledge the fear, but don’t let it paralyze you. Remember the wise words of John Wayne: “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.” Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s taking action despite the fear.

So, my dear friends, I encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and embrace new experiences, higher levels of your existing passions, and even explore completely unknown territories. Don’t let fear rob you of the incredible opportunities that lie ahead. Trust in yourself and God’s plan for you, and watch the magic unfold.

Each day is an opportunity for you to begin again, to rewrite your story, and to chase after your wildest dreams. Let go of the fear that has held you back for far too long, and instead, choose to live a life filled with the vibrancy and purpose that you deserve.

I hope this little reminder brings a spark to your day and ignites a fire within you to embrace life fearlessly. You are capable of incredible things, my friends, and I’m rooting for each and every one of you.

I’m going to take my own advice. We are relocating to a different state and I must admit there are times I am very fearful. Did I find the right place? Are we going to be able to afford it ? Is this the right time?

But you know I’ve been wanting to do this for years and it’s going to happen. It’s the best time now. So I will post updates along the way 😊

Wishing you all a blessed day filled with love, courage, and endless possibilities. Remember, it’s never too late to begin again. With love and light,
Debbie 💖

Teaching His Daughters The Power of a Kind Gesture

In a bustling town, in Cleveland Ohio there lived a young father named John, who was known for his kind-heartedness and his desire to teach his children the value of kindness. His daughters, Sarah and Lisa, were eager to learn from their father and embark on a journey of spreading goodness within their community.

One summer sunny day, John decided to take his daughters to the local grocery store. As they walked through the aisles, John shared stories of how simple acts of kindness can brighten someone’s day. He explained to them that extending help to others is not just about making them feel good, but it also brings immense joy and gratification to one’s own heart.

As they finished shopping and made their way towards the exit, John noticed a man with two young children following closely behind them. The man appeared exhausted, struggling to manage the grocery bags while tending to his little ones.

John saw this as an opportunity to showcase the power of kindness in action. He turned to his daughters and whispered, “Girls, let’s extend a hand of kindness to this man and his children.”

With wide smiles on their faces, Sarah and Lisa approached the man and politely asked, “Excuse us, sir. Would you mind if we returned the shopping cart for you?”

The man looked surprised at first, but then a warm smile spread across his face. Gratefully, he handed over the cart to the girls, who eagerly wheeled it back to the appropriate spot. As they returned, they noticed the man’s tired expression had transformed into one of relief and gratitude.

Word quickly spread amongst the shoppers about the selfless act demonstrated by John’s daughters. Soon, other people began to approach Sarah and Lisa, requesting their assistance in returning their shopping carts as well. Each person had a sparkle in their eyes, touched by the unexpected kindness shown to them.

Some even offered to pay the girls, but Sarah replied cheerfully, “Thank you, but we’re not here for money. We just want to do acts of kindness for our community.”

As the day went on, John and his daughters continued to lend a helping hand, carrying groceries for those in need, and returning carts with a smile. With each act of kindness, they witnessed the power of their small gestures in brightening the spirits of others.

Through their actions, John, Sarah, and Lisa taught the community a valuable lesson about the beauty of kindness. Their genuine desire to make a difference touched the hearts of many, reminding everyone that a little act of kindness can go a long way.

He was so proud of his girls they went and got ice cream and when the father went to pay a young man behind the counter said it was already paid for by the man with 2 girls over at the table. They sat all together eating talking and laughing. And later John took his girls to the park .

From that day forward, the town embraced John’s example, becoming a place where neighbors looked out for one another, where strangers offered assistance, and where kindness became a way of life.

And so, let us take inspiration from this tale and remember the importance of extending kindness not only to strangers but also to our loved ones. Let us cherish each opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter, and in doing so, may we cultivate a world filled with compassion, empathy, and love.

The Railroad Preacher

In the year 1830, there was a railroad man named Paul who worked tirelessly on the expanding railway system in the United States. His strong hands and unwavering dedication earned him a reputation as one of the most reliable workers. However, deep within his heart, Paul always felt a yearning for something more than just laying track and building railroads.

One fateful day, Paul’s life took an unexpected turn when he received news of a job opportunity in the vast wilderness of Montana. Determined to provide a better future for his growing family, he packed up his belongings, bidding farewell to the bustling railroad towns of the East. Alongside his beloved wife Ruth and their children, they embarked on a journey that would test their faith and courage.

Their train chugged along, traversing through rugged landscapes and untamed territories. As they ventured further into the heartland, they encountered challenges that tested their resilience. Outlaws lurked in the shadows, threatening the peace and security of the travelers. But Paul, being a man of faith, refused to let fear consume him.

One night, as the family rested near a deserted railroad station, they were awakened by the sound of approaching danger. Standing outside their tiny wooden cabin, Paul saw a group of outlaws advancing towards them with malicious intent. With only a lantern in hand, Paul raised it high, letting its golden glow illuminate the surrounding darkness.

Unbeknownst to the outlaws, the light from the lantern caught the attention of a nearby Native American tribe. The tribe, having witnessed Paul’s unwavering spirit and determination to protect his family, recognized his goodness and honor. They decided to intervene and come to the rescue of the railroad man and his family.

The tribe’s chief, wise and gentle, approached Paul and offered his assistance. In gratitude, Paul shared his faith with them, spreading the teachings of Christianity and the message of love and forgiveness. Deeply moved, the Native American tribe embraced Paul’s message, forging a bond of friendship and mutual respect.

Together, they joined forces to establish a settlement in the heart of Montana. This newfound community would serve as a beacon of hope, blending the traditions and wisdom of the Native Americans with the teachings of Christianity. Paul, fueled by his faith and newfound purpose, became a minister, spreading the word of God to all who would listen.

Through their unwavering trust in God and the power of unity, Paul and Ruth, alongside their newfound friends in the Native American tribe, transformed the lawless wilderness into a place of peace, love, and harmony. Their legacy of faith and the spirit of cooperation continued to inspire generations to come, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Montana.

Let this story remind us that even in the darkest of times, when lawlessness looms and uncertainty surrounds us, the power of faith and love can illuminate the path to a brighter future. Let us remember the story of Paul and Ruth, the railroad man and his wife, who with the help of a stranger’s lantern, found their way to a new life and, more importantly, found their way to the hearts of many.

When Sarah Found Hope

In a small town nestled amidst the rolling hills, of Tennessee lived a kind-hearted grandmother named Sarah. She had gracefully embraced the role of raising her three grandchildren, Emily, James, and Lily, after her own daughter lost her battle with addiction.

Life hadn’t been easy for Sarah. She found herself juggling the responsibilities of everyday life and the demands of caring for young children. One day, while she was trying to fix their old television, a knock came at her door. It was the friendly neighborhood television repairman, Mr. Johnson.

With a warm smile, Mr. Johnson greeted Sarah and asked if he could take a look at the broken television. As he worked his magic, Sarah shared her struggles and the difficulties she faced as a single grandmother trying to provide for her grandchildren. Mr. Johnson listened attentively, his heart touched by her story.

After repairing the television, Mr. Johnson surprised Sarah by installing two brand new televisions in her home. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Sarah couldn’t believe her eyes. For the first time in a long while, she saw a glimmer of hope.

Little did Sarah know, Mr. Johnson was part of a church community known for their acts of kindness. He couldn’t bear to see Sarah struggle any longer, and so he decided to share her story with his fellow church members. The congregation was moved by Sarah’s selflessness and the challenges she faced.

They came together, preparing baskets filled with groceries, fresh fruits, vegetables, and even some homemade meals. With smiles on their faces, they arrived at Sarah’s doorstep, offering their help and support. Tears welled up in Sarah’s eyes as she realized she wasn’t alone in this journey. They became her extended family, surrounding her with love and care.

From that day forward, Sarah’s life changed. She found solace in her new televisions, enjoying moments of laughter and togetherness with her children. The community’s support uplifted her spirit, giving her the strength to face each day with renewed hope and gratitude.

Sarah carried the lesson of compassion in her heart forever, paying it forward whenever possible. She learned that even in the darkest of times, there is always light to be found, especially when people come together to extend a helping hand.

And so, let us remember the words of the Bible: “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9) May this story serve as a reminder that acts of kindness, big or small, have the power to transform lives and bring hope to those who need it the most.

The power of kindness

In a world that can often feel divided and disheartening, it’s easy to forget the power of kindness. But sometimes, a small act of generosity from a stranger can remind us all of the goodness and compassion that still exists in humanity.

Have you ever experienced a random act of kindness? Perhaps it was something as simple as a stranger holding the door open for you, or someone letting you go ahead of them in line at the grocery store. Whatever it was, chances are it left a lasting impression on you.

As Christians, we’re called to be kind and compassionate towards others, just as God has shown us kindness and compassion. In fact, the Bible is full of verses that encourage us to be generous and loving towards others.

One such verse comes from Proverbs 11:25, which says, “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.” This reminds us that when we show kindness to others, we also reap the benefits of that kindness.

Another well-known verse, Ephesians 4:32, says, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” This verse encourages us to not only show kindness, but also to forgive others and have a tender heart towards them.

So the next time you have the opportunity to do a random act of kindness for someone, don’t hesitate. Whether it’s paying for their coffee or simply offering a listening ear, you never know how much of an impact it may have on their day. And when someone shows you kindness, be sure to thank them and pass it on to someone else.

Remember, as Christians we’re called to spread love and joy wherever we go. So let’s all strive to be a little kinder today, and every day.
