It’s remarkable how He orchestrates our paths, rerouting our plans and weaving people and circumstances together in unexpected ways. When everything seems to be falling apart and not going according to our carefully laid-out plans, it might just be a sign that God is at work behind the scenes.I

Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” This verse serves as a gentle nudge to trust in the divine guidance that is constantly at play in our lives. Even when we feel lost or disheartened, it’s crucial to remember that God is intricately involved in every aspect of our journey.

So, the next time you find yourself grappling with uncertainty or facing unforeseen challenges, take solace in the knowledge that God is working on your behalf. Embrace the unexpected detours and delays, for they might just be paving the way for something greater than you could have ever imagined. Just hold on a little longer, have faith, and believe that God’s divine plan is unfolding in ways that surpass our understanding.

May we find peace and reassurance in surrendering to God’s divine sense of humor and guidance, allowing Him to steer us towards the remarkable destinations He has in store for each one of us.

Faith in Action: Living Out the Word

In the tapestry of Christian faith, threads of belief and action intricately weave together to form a vibrant expression of discipleship. James, in his epistle, underscores this union, stressing the inseparability of faith and works. Drawing from James 1:23-25 and 2:14-17, we’re reminded that mere hearing of the Word without corresponding action renders faith ineffective.

Faith, devoid of action, resembles a fleeting glance in a mirror, quickly forgotten once the observer turns away. Yet, true discipleship involves a deeper engagement—a persistent gaze into the perfect law of liberty, culminating in proactive obedience. This obedience isn’t borne out of obligation but springs forth from the transformative work of the Holy Spirit within believers.

James challenges us to examine the authenticity of our faith by assessing our deeds. Merely professing faith while neglecting the tangible needs of others reveals a faith devoid of vitality. True faith, on the other hand, manifests in acts of compassion, service, and selflessness, mirroring the love of Christ.

As recipients of God’s unconditional love, we’re called to extend that same love to others through our actions. Our identity as disciples isn’t confined to doctrinal affirmations but finds its fullest expression in the way we live out our beliefs. Our lives become living testimonies—a tangible reflection of God’s grace and mercy.

Gathering for worship is essential, but it’s incomplete without the outward expression of our faith in everyday life. Our faith is authenticated not by words alone but by the transformative power evident in our deeds. Let us resolve to be not just hearers of the Word but active doers, bearing witness to God’s love in a world hungry for hope and compassion.

Faith and action are inseparable companions on the journey of discipleship. Let us embrace this truth wholeheartedly, allowing our lives to be living epistles, read and known by all, as we embody the love and grace of our Savior in both word and deed.

Take the Glow Up Challenge

A glow up challenge for women or men is a personal transformation journey focused on various aspects of one’s life to feel more confident, empowered, and overall radiant. It typically involves setting goals in areas such as physical health, skincare, fashion, self-care, mental well-being, and personal growth. Participants may engage in activities such as regular exercise, adopting a skincare routine, updating their wardrobe, practicing self-love and mindfulness, learning new skills, and pursuing personal development objectives. The glow up challenge is about investing in oneself, embracing positive changes, and ultimately achieving a more vibrant and fulfilled lifestyle.

“Dear God, as we embark on this glow up challenge, guide us in our personal transformation journey. Grant us strength and motivation to focus on enhancing various aspects of our lives, including physical fitness, grooming, spiritual mental health, and career development. May we find confidence and self-esteem in the positive changes we make, and may we always strive for a more fulfilling and confident lifestyle. As we get closer to you in the word also.

Amen.”

Encounters In Our Lives

In life, we are not solitary beings but interconnected threads woven together by a divine purpose. God orchestrates the encounters and relationships in our lives with deliberate intention. Each person we meet, every soul we touch, is not by chance but by divine design. We are called to be catalysts for each other’s growth and success, to uplift and empower one another to reach our fullest potential.

As we journey through life, let us remember the profound impact of believing in others. Our encouragement, support, and belief in their abilities can ignite the spark that propels them toward their destiny. Like a beacon of light, let our faith in others shine brightly, guiding them through the darkness of doubt and fear.

In Philippians 2:3-4, the Bible reminds us, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Through selfless love and genuine care, we can inspire and empower those around us, enabling them to embrace their true potential and fulfill the purpose for which they were created. Let us be vessels of hope, agents of encouragement, and champions of each other’s dreams.

In every step I take

In every step I take, I am assured that God is orchestrating the path ahead, smoothing out every twist and turn before me. His divine presence ensures that even the most challenging circumstances are transformed into opportunities for growth and blessings. As Isaiah 45:2 reminds us, “I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.” With unwavering faith, I trust that God has strategically placed the right individuals in my life, each one instrumental in paving the way for success. Every encounter, every challenge, and every victory is part of His master plan, perfectly synchronized with His timing. In moments of doubt or uncertainty, I cling to the promise that nothing – no person, no illness, no setback – can thwart His purpose for me. For “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). With this declaration resonating in my heart, I walk in confidence, knowing that what God has spoken over my life will undoubtedly come to fruition. This unwavering belief fuels my journey, filling each day with hope, courage, and boundless possibilities. So, let us stand together, united in faith, as we proclaim His faithfulness and embrace the abundant blessings that await us. Amen.

Embracing God’s Love: Overcoming Obstacles with Faith

In the journey of life, obstacles are inevitable. Yet, as Christians, we are blessed with the unwavering love of God, a love that empowers us to conquer every challenge that comes our way. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when faced with adversity, but it’s crucial to remember that God is always by our side, guiding us through the storm.

In Romans 8:28, it’s written, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This powerful verse reminds us that even in the midst of trials, God is working behind the scenes for our benefit. Every setback is an opportunity for growth, every obstacle a chance to strengthen our faith.

When we shift our perspective and choose to see the positive in negative events, we unlock the transformative power of God’s love. Instead of dwelling on our struggles, we can rejoice in the knowledge that each challenge is a stepping stone on the path to fulfillment.

So, dear Christians, when we are faced with adversity, remember that you are not alone. Trust in God’s plan for your life, knowing that His love will carry you through every obstacle. Embrace the journey, for in the end, you will emerge stronger, wiser, and more deeply rooted in His love.

Handpicked

God handpicked you, even if you feel like an outsider. Regardless of your past, background, or perceived inadequacies, God chooses you. The world may say you’re not qualified or that you don’t fit in, but God’s response is, “You’re exactly who I’m looking for.” He specializes in choosing strangers, those who don’t conform to societal expectations, those with flaws and weaknesses.

In Jeremiah 1:5, God declares that He knew and approved you before you were even formed in your mother’s womb. You’re not just chosen; you have a calling and greatness within you. Don’t let the enemy’s lies make you feel left out or unworthy. God has a history of choosing unexpected individuals, like David, a shepherd boy who became the king of Israel, and Moses, who led the Israelites despite his flaws.

Even Jesus, instead of choosing the expected candidates, picked fishermen and tax collectors as his disciples. He didn’t go for the most qualified; he chose those with imperfections. Similarly, God’s choice of you isn’t based on your flaws or background. He knew every mistake you would make, every struggle you’d face, and still, He chose you.

Don’t disqualify yourself; God’s calling on your life is unchangeable. Start each day acknowledging that you are chosen and approved by the Creator of the universe. You are a masterpiece, fearfully and wonderfully made. People may disapprove or look down on you, but their opinions don’t matter when you have Almighty God’s approval.

Your past struggles and setbacks haven’t disqualified you; they’ve prepared you for where God is taking you. You are a perfect fit for your assignment. Instead of dwelling on what could have been, embrace the fact that God considered everything and still chose you. Hold your head high, knowing that your worth comes from being chosen by God.

Embracing February: A Leap into Reflection Groundhog Shadows, and the Miraculous Season of Lent

As we bid adieu to January and welcome February with open arms, it’s hard to believe how swiftly January went by. February brings with it the gift of an extra day, courtesy of the leap year – 29 days to make the most of this transitional month.

Tomorrow, the furry meteorologists, Buckeye Chuck and Punxsutawney Phil, will take center stage on Groundhog Day.

And here in Florida: Officials at Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters in Marathon claim a conch can also predict the duration of winter weather ahead.

The age-old tradition leaves us in anticipation – will they see their shadows, predicting six more weeks of winter, or will an early spring grace us sooner than expected?

Beyond the folklore of Groundhog Day, February unfolds a tapestry of events, including the celebration of love on Valentine’s Day. A day dedicated to expressions of affection, it marks the beginning of a fortnight filled with romantic gestures.

Yet, as the month progresses, another significant period commences with Ash Wednesday on February 14 this year – the start of Lent. This 40-day season serves as a time for reflection, renewal, and spiritual growth. Fasting, prayer, and a focus on strengthening one’s relationship with God are the pillars of this solemn observance.

“Lent is a time of reflection and renewal. It’s a sign of ‘I know I need change; I know I need a conversion of heart,'” echoes the spirit of this season. It provides an opportunity for self-examination, a chance to identify areas for personal growth, and a commitment to positive change.

The intentional practices of fasting and prayer during Lent invite believers to delve into the depths of their faith. Through moments of solitude and contemplation, individuals seek to align their lives with spiritual values, fostering a sense of mindfulness and gratitude.

As February unfolds its unique blend of festivities, from predicting the weather with groundhogs to Mardi Gras 2024 falls on February 13 then to expressing love on Valentine’s Day, and my amazing granddaughters birthday is also this month, and then there is Presidents’ Day.

It also presents a sacred time for introspection during Lent. In embracing this multifaceted month, let us cherish each day as an opportunity for growth, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose.

If you can make time for work, home, play, school, going out , can you make time for God and reading your Bible.

God made Insects even No see ums

BugsGod made them to take care of other insects but I dislike all bugs but I really hate them here in central Florida . Especially No see ums.

What’s a No see I’m?

No See Ums are microscopic little blood-sucking biting flies (technically a midge) that pack a mean punch. While only the females bite you, it’s disconcerting when you can feel something land on you, crawl across your skin, but you can’t see them. Next thing you know, you feel a painful bite, which is really an injection, and then you itch like crazy.

Before you know it, little red bumps arise on my calves, ankles, and abdomen and the itching begins. Calamine lotion, rubbing alcohol, and even hydrocortisone offer scant relief. As the adage goes, the best defense is a good offense. Taking a proactive approach to these microscopic buggers by protecting yourself before you encounter them is the best defense.

Noseeums, mosquitoes, midges hate them all but noseeums are the worst…yep it’s a real bug and you can’t see them but they bite and it hurts and leaves welts.

I am learning to wear protective spray but I swear they get in your house and wait til your comfortable and then get you.

These all seem to work for a minute, but what gets rid of them!

Effective Mosquito -Noseeum- biting midge Repellents: they work for a moment but I’d like to get rid of them and not fight a losing battle.

  1. Citronella, derived from lemongrass, is a key ingredient in commercial bug sprays and candles. Its citrusy scent repels mosquitoes, making it a great natural option for skin application or creating homemade deterrents.
  2. Peppermint’s minty fragrance acts as a deterrent for mosquitoes. Planting peppermint or applying crushed leaves directly to your skin can effectively ward off these flying insects. Peppermint oil also helps relieve itchiness from bug bites.
  3. Basil, known for seasoning, serves as a versatile natural repellent. The essential oils in basil emit a potent aroma that irritates mosquitoes. Grow basil in your yard and make homemade sprays using its essential oils for maximum repellent benefits.

  1. Garlic, rich in allicin, serves as an edible repellent by masking our scent. Scatter slivers around outdoor areas or blend with oils to create yard sprays. Combine garlic with essential oils for a body spray, ensuring mosquitoes steer clear of the unappealing smell.
  2. Lemon Balm, with its lemon scent, deters insects while being loved by bees and humans. Grow it in targeted areas or apply crushed leaves for personal repellent. Utilize leftover leaves in herbal teas for added stress relief benefits.
  3. Lavender, favored by many but disliked by mosquitoes, can be used by extracting oils for skin application or creating a body spray. Plant it in your garden for added charm and effective mosquito deterrence.
  4. Marigold’s pungent aroma repels mosquitoes; plant them strategically and use cut flowers indoors to prevent mosquito migration. Enjoy the added benefit of colorful, edible flowers in your garden.
  5. Catnip, with Nepetalactone, is highly effective, surpassing DEET in repelling mosquitoes. Plant it in your garden, apply crushed leaves to your skin, or use them in tea for natural healing. Bonus: share surplus leaves with grateful feline friends.
  6. Rosemary, a versatile herb, combats mosquitoes when planted in the garden. Place sprigs on the grill while barbecuing to keep mosquitoes at bay or infuse into lotions and sprays for simple body repellents.
  7. Eucalyptus, akin to citronella, disrupts mosquitoes’ senses. Plant it in your yard or apply its oil directly to the skin for optimum protection against mosquitoes, ticks, midges, and sandflies.

On a spiritual note

As I dealt with the consequences of these troublesome ankle-biters, and forehead biters when your walking ,it occurred to me that we encounter spiritual “No See Ums” in our daily lives. We may be sailing smoothly, only to face betrayal or belittlement from a friend, or family member leading to discouragement. At times, misinformation and fear-inducing news soundbites can trigger anger. I’ve come to realize that while we can defend against both physical and spiritual “No See Ums,” complete victory over them remains elusive.

Exodus 8:16-32 AMPC

Then the Lord said to Moses, Say to Aaron, (Aaron was the elder brother of Moses) Stretch out your rod and strike the dust of the ground, that it may become biting gnats or mosquitoes throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and there came biting gnats or mosquitoes on man and beast; all the dust of the land became biting gnats or mosquitoes throughout all the land of Egypt.
