Living a Life of Chronic Gratitude: Finding Blessings in Every Moment

In the journey of life, we are all bound to encounter trials and tribulations, whether we navigate through days filled with sunshine or weather storms of adversity. For individuals like myself, living with chronic pain has become a constant companion, although since moving to Florida it’s been less, fir 30 years it’s been a silent shadow that lingers in the background of daily existence. Yet, amidst the challenges and uncertainties that pain brings, I have learned to embrace a mindset of chronic gratitude – an attitude that transcends circumstances and illuminates even the darkest moments with rays of hope and appreciation.

As the author of the blog “ChronicallyGratefulDebla,” aka now called http://www.Joint-Purpose.com and also http://www.joyful-echoes.com

I am on a personal sojourn towards discovering the profound beauty of being grateful in both the good times and the not-so-good times. This journey has taught me that gratitude is not just a fleeting emotion evoked by fleeting circumstances; it is a state of being, a conscious decision to acknowledge and appreciate the blessings that surround us, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant they may appear.

Living with chronic pain has its own set of challenges – the unrelenting ache, the limitations it imposes, the moments of despair when it seems like the pain will never end. However, through the lens of chronic gratitude, I have come to understand that even in the midst of pain, there are still reasons to be thankful. It is in those moments of discomfort and struggle that we discover our inner strength, our resilience, and our capacity to endure.

Whether we are working full-time, part-time, or currently unemployed, the trials and tribulations of life do not discriminate. They touch us all in different ways, shaping our experiences and testing our resolve. It is during these times that being grounded in faith becomes essential, serving as a beacon of light in the darkness, a source of comfort and guidance when the road ahead seems uncertain.

Being chronically grateful does not mean denying the challenges we face or pretending that everything is perfect. Instead, it is an acknowledgment of the complexities of life, a recognition that even in the midst of pain and adversity, there are still reasons to give thanks. It is an act of defiance against despair, a declaration of hope in the face of uncertainty.

So, as I navigate the highs and lows of my journey, I choose to remain chronically grateful, blessed, and thankful. I choose to see the beauty in every moment, to find joy in the midst of sorrow, and to embrace each day as a gift, no matter what it may bring. Because in the end, gratitude is not just a feeling – it is a way of life, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of faith to sustain us through the darkest of times.

Encounters In Our Lives

In life, we are not solitary beings but interconnected threads woven together by a divine purpose. God orchestrates the encounters and relationships in our lives with deliberate intention. Each person we meet, every soul we touch, is not by chance but by divine design. We are called to be catalysts for each other’s growth and success, to uplift and empower one another to reach our fullest potential.

As we journey through life, let us remember the profound impact of believing in others. Our encouragement, support, and belief in their abilities can ignite the spark that propels them toward their destiny. Like a beacon of light, let our faith in others shine brightly, guiding them through the darkness of doubt and fear.

In Philippians 2:3-4, the Bible reminds us, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Through selfless love and genuine care, we can inspire and empower those around us, enabling them to embrace their true potential and fulfill the purpose for which they were created. Let us be vessels of hope, agents of encouragement, and champions of each other’s dreams.

Just A Nobody

I listen to Z88.3 Orlando it’s a Christian radio station and I just love all the talks, music etc….

I listened to KLOVE when I lived in Ohio.

One of my favorite songs is by Casting Crowns called Nobody.

It’s basically saying what I have thought for the past few years, why me? Why was I selected and lead to take ministry classes? To be ordained when I am so flawed? We all have flaws but I wonder why God lead me to take classes the ultimately led me to become ordained.

Was it to teach me how to become better, wiser?

I’m just an ordinary person spreading the word about Jesus. In ways of stories I create , thoughts I have . And teachings I have studied as well as my own Life experiences etc..

The mystery of why You chose me Lord has persisted throughout my life. I’ve often been told that I belong at the end of the line with the Not-Quites and the Never-Get-It-Rights and How can you be a minister you used to swear smoke, etc….

As the song goes

I’m just a nobody, sharing the story of Somebody who saved my soul. Since You rescued me, my heart now sings a song,

In moments of doubt, when the devil questions my worth, I confidently respond that I’m just a nobody proclaiming Somebody great.

The stories of Moses’ stage fright and David facing a sword with a rock remind me that outsiders like the twelve You picked can change the world. Everyone has a purpose, and when the devil questions my identity, I assert that I’m just a nobody proclaiming Somebody who saved my soul.

Thank you Lord for saving me and allowing me to spread your word

And in the spirit of the message, let’s reflect on Psalm 27:1 – “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Here is the song by the casting crowns enjoy. Called Nobody

Finding Light in Recovery: A Grateful Reflection on Kindness and Resilience

Greetings, everyone! Apologies for my brief absence – my husband and I have been on the path to recovery after battling Covid. The experience felt like a prolonged, severe flu, with feverish days and exhaustion. Today, as we gradually regain our strength, I want to express gratitude for the outpouring of support and discuss the profound impact of kindness from strangers.

The Power of Well-Wishes:
Thank you to all who sent well wishes and positive vibes our way during this challenging time. Your messages played a significant role in lifting our spirits and aiding our recovery. It’s a testament to the strength of community, even in the digital realm.

Kindness of Strangers:
Reflecting on these past days, I’m reminded of the importance of being kind to both familiar faces and strangers. In our daily interactions, a simple act of kindness – holding a door, offering a smile – can brighten someone’s day. We never truly know the battles others are facing, making compassion a powerful force.

Nurturing the Soul:
Amidst recovery, I encourage you to continue nurturing your soul. Dedicate 5 to 10 minutes each day to read from the Bible, finding solace and inspiration in its verses. For today, let me share two Bible quotes to guide your path and a positive quote to uplift your Wednesday:

  1. “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” – Psalm 28:7
  2. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Positive Wednesday Quote:
“Your kindness may be the only glimpse of God someone sees today.” – Unknown

In times of recovery and beyond, let’s hold onto the lessons of kindness, resilience, and the power of community. May these words from the Bible and the positive quote guide you toward a brighter and more compassionate Wednesday.

Letting Go: A Parable of Faith and Divine Peace

In the stillness of a night, a man found himself suspended between life and potential doom. As he clung to a concrete ledge, desperately crying for help amidst the clamor of construction, his pleas went unheard. Exhausted and fearing the worst, he finally relinquished his grip, only to discover a ledge mere inches below—a place of unexpected peace.

This parable mirrors the struggles many face, holding onto life’s uncertainties with fearful tenacity. How often do we live on the edge, gripped by anxiety and reluctance to let go? The tale invites introspection, urging us to release our fears and embrace the peace that lies just a step away.

Embedded within this narrative is a profound truth—one that transcends the story itself. The Bible teaches us in Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV): “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

As we consider the man’s struggle and the six-inch fall to unexpected tranquility, the parallel with the scripture becomes clear. The invitation to let go aligns with the biblical wisdom of entrusting our anxieties to God through prayer. The promise of divine peace, beyond human comprehension, serves as a beacon of hope in times of uncertainty.

The narrative then transitions into a spiritual reflection, addressing the reader’s potential skepticism or distress. The author acknowledges not knowing the individual struggles but reaffirms the unwavering presence of God with believers. The encouragement to keep moving forward, rather than standing still, becomes a call to faith and action.

This narrative crescendos with a declaration of victory in the coming New Year. The call to come to God echoes the scriptural invitation to find peace through trust and prayer. The story serves not only as an engaging parable but as a reminder that in letting go and turning to God, we discover a peace that surpasses understanding—a peace available to all who choose to release their fears and come to Him.

Embracing Forgiveness: A Journey to a Lighter Heart

As I stand on the threshold of a new year, I reflect on the transformative power of forgiveness. This year, let’s embark on a journey to lighten our hearts by extending forgiveness to ourselves, to those who have hurt us, and by seeking forgiveness from those we’ve wronged.

Forgiving oneself is a profound act of self-love. Accept that mistakes are inevitable, and through each one, we gain wisdom and strength. Try your best, learn from each misstep, and remember, there’s always tomorrow. As I look back on my tumultuous relationship with my late mother, I grappled with guilt but found solace in making amends in my 30s. Despite the moments of regret, I now carry the lessons forward, honoring her memory by striving to be a better person every day. I wasn’t a terrible daughter but there were times I disrespected her that hurt her feelings and that bothers me. Because I was a mouthy teen and abused wife I sometimes yelled at her when I had no right and when she died I would dwell in my negative vs all the happy times and laughs we had.

When forgiving others, discern if the hurt was personal or a reflection of their struggles. Often, it’s the latter—borne out of insecurities or past traumas. Gift them forgiveness, even if they don’t apologize. Partial forgiveness is a start, and with time and commitment, complete forgiveness may follow. I’ve experienced the liberation of forgiving those who once caused me pain—it’s a gift to both parties.

Seeking forgiveness is a humbling process. Be honest, respect their decision, and commit to making amends. Facing rejection was once my greatest challenge, but with age comes the wisdom to admit mistakes promptly. Forgiving those who wronged me was equally liberating—I did it for myself. While some things may seem unforgivable, our capacity for forgiveness is immense if we earnestly try.

I encourage you to forgive everyone who has hurt you, one person at a time, at your own pace. Extend forgiveness to yourself—it’s a gift of peace you deserve. Have the courage to seek forgiveness from others; the effort alone brings a sense of closure. As we step into the new year, may we shed the weight of resentment and embrace the lightness that forgiveness brings—a lighter you, ready to face the world with a heart unburdened.

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.” – Luke 6:27

Taking a Leap of Faith: Trusting God for Your New Adventure”

Life is an incredible journey filled with opportunities for growth, change, and adventure. Sometimes, to embrace a new lifestyle, discover fresh opportunities, and find a new location, all it takes is a leap of faith and trust in God.

Embracing Change and Adventure

Life can become stagnant when we stay within our comfort zones. It’s in those moments when we dare to step into the unknown that we truly grow. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Trusting God wholeheartedly is the key to embarking on a new adventure.

A Divine Plan

Jeremiah 29:11 reassures us that God has plans for our lives. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” These plans are filled with purpose, but they may require us to move out of our comfort zones.

Positive Quote for the Day

Here’s a quote to keep in mind as you embark on this journey: “Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller

Each day is a new opportunity, and as you trust God for your new pad and take that leap of faith, you’re opening the door to a world of possibilities. Embrace the change, welcome the adventure, and watch as your life unfolds in ways you never imagined. With faith as your guide, your new adventure awaits.

“Embracing Life’s Blessings: The Power of Kindness and Humility”

Hello, dear readers,

Today, I want to share a story close to my heart—one that reminds us that blessings come in diverse and unexpected ways. Life has an uncanny knack for teaching us lessons when we least expect it, and these lessons often revolve around the importance of kindness, humility, and the art of recognizing the blessings that surround us.

Recently, I found myself in the midst of a life-changing adventure—an interstate move across the country. As you might imagine, it was no small feat. Long hours on the road, aching joints, and the sheer physical toll of loading and unloading a U-Haul truck made for a challenging journey. At times, it felt like I needed a ladder just to climb into the truck’s cabin!

A family member recently offered to help us move to be closer to them, which was a chance of a lifetime, and after discussion my husband and I decided to take the journey from Ohio to Florida, and then we would be staying in a nice home.

And because of the long journey instead of me, being grateful I was ticked off just because I was in pain I was exhausted I was hungry. I was tired and it was wrong. I had no business being so mean.

But life has a way of delivering its lessons in pairs. As I traveled, my aching joints became a constant companion. Joint pain can be an unwelcome and persistent visitor, making even the simplest tasks seem monumental. I mean the Uhaul truck was a chore getting in and out of.

It was during this time that I realized the value of hiring someone to high-dust my new home, sparing me the discomfort of ascending a ladder. In this moment, a blessing took shape in the form of a service that lightened my load, both literally and figuratively.

However, life isn’t just about receiving blessings; it’s also about recognizing our own moments of imperfection. As I dealt with the physical and emotional toll of the move, I found myself succumbing to frustration and moodiness. There was a moment when I looked in the mirror and realized that I was far from the kind and patient person I aspired to be. In fact, I was acting quite the opposite—a “rotten human being,” as I put it. This self-awareness became the catalyst for another vital lesson.

I recognized that I was becoming a hypocrite—preaching kindness while failing to embody it myself. I had allowed the stress and discomfort of the situation to impact my behavior negatively. It was then that I understood the importance of acknowledging our own shortcomings and seeking forgiveness when we fall short of our own ideals.

So, here’s the takeaway: blessings can come in many forms, from the helping hand of a friend to the relief provided by a hired service. But these blessings are often intertwined with the lessons we learn along the way. We must be mindful not to take advantage of others, or be short with others especially during times of frustration or discomfort. We must remember that kindness should be our guiding principle, even when life doesn’t go exactly as planned.

As I continue on this journey, I’m making a conscious effort to practice kindness, not just in my actions but also in my words and thoughts.

I don’t usually go off the deep end like that.

Let’s remember that we’re all works in progress, and while life may test our patience, it also offers us the chance to grow. So, dear readers, may you all have a blessed day, filled with opportunities to embrace life’s blessings and to practice kindness and humility in all that you do.
